Sad news in our dear city. May God give those who lost their loved ones as well as all Torontonians the fortitude to bear this tragedy. .
“Stony the road we trod, bitter the chastening rod, felt in the days when hope unborn had died. Yet with a steady beat had not our weary feet, we have come over a way that with years has been watered, we have come treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered; out from the gloomy past, till now we stand at last where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.
This is our hope for the future! With this faith, we’ll be able to sing in not so distance tomorrow with a cosmic past tense, we have overcome, we have overcome, deep in my heart I did believe we would over come! 🙏🏾🙏🏾 @cityofto #Toronto#prayfortoronto .
The lights with my daughter.
Before P goes to bed sometimes we like to sit by the window and look at the lights. During which we practice conversation and I encourage her to ask me questions about anything and everything from what color is that car to a word on a billboard she might know. She almost always cheekily says "dad, is this a question?" Her favorite thing though is watching the #cntower change color, but tonight the tower was no where to be seen.
So I just thought.
Tonight, no lights..... We walk the streets of the best city in the world daily without fear or second thought and we will keep walking them! My heart goes out to all my fellow Torontonians who are mourning. We all feel this loss, we all need to come together.
So, like i said to my daughter i say again to remind us all:
Tonight there won't be lights, but tomorrow there will be lights.
TORONTO STAND STRONG
Ten people are dead and 15 are injured after the driver of a van plowed into multiple pedestrians in Toronto on Monday in what appears to be a deliberate act, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said.
Saunders said the suspected driver, Alek Minassian, 25, of Richmond Hill, Ontario, was in custody. Minassian was arrested in a white rental van less than 30 minutes after police received a 911 call, Saunders said.
Minassian was previously known to Toronto authorities, according to a US law enforcement official briefed on the matter. Authorities said Minassian left a trail of destruction nearly a mile long, north of midtown Toronto #toronto_insta#torontoclx#wethenorth#cntower#worldnews#photography#heartbreaking#sadden#condolences#god#faith#strong#united#cnn#topnews#worldstarhiphop
My heart goes out to those who were at the scene at Yonge and Finch. Lives lost. Lost love ones. Their families and those who witnessed what occurred.
We are surrounded by family, friends and acquaintances that make our world a beautiful place. And we are also around those who are not always so nice, a little hurtful and prepared for the next argument.
The majority of us see our loved ones briefly in the morning and a few hours in the evening. So I ask that for the time in between that we cherish and embrace life. That we have a more positive attitude. That we smile and say something nice... And if we can't say something nice, we don't say anything at all to bring others down. Let's not be ready for the next argument. Change the argument to a conversation.
Because just like that... Life can change.
How many of you have walked in the Yonge and Finch area?
Just like that... Life can change.
Still speechless from the attack that happened today in Toronto. My prayers and condolences go out to all those affected by the tragedy today at Yonge and Finch. Stay strong Toronto 🇨🇦 #tragedy#TorontoStrong

Minassian was apprehended by police approximately 26 minutes after police received the 911 call. Motives behind the attack are still being determined. #torontostrong (📸: @cntower)
It was a sad day for our beautiful, vibrant city. May the deceased Rest In Peace, the injured heal, and the loved ones of those impacted find strength during this devastating time. These senseless tragedies remind us that life can change in a split second. Remember to love each other and be kind to others. #heartbreaking#toronto#torontostrong#ILoveMyCity#TO#cntower
Normally the #cntower would be lit up in #blue to celebrate the #torontomapleleafs win but after the horrific events in #NorthYork today the tower is dark. Tonight we celebrate but we also mourn. So many lives lost for no reason.
This will not break us.
We are #TORONTOSTONG
