Sky Road - Clifden
Right on the west coast of Ireland, this road gives you spectacular views over the Atlantic.
Connemara and its surroundings are absolutely magnificent. With your friends or just by yourself its a trip worth taking.
We were very surprised by the breathtaking beauty of that area, the mountains, the beaches the lakes, the Atlantic…

For those of you asking why we call it “Dolphin Beach” - this should hopefully explain it! Listening to the sounds of dolphins playing right beside you is one of the most amazing sounds you’ll hear. If you’re up early enough before breakfast you can often hear them passing by the beach from your bedroom when it’s still and calm.

The timeless waves, bright, sifting, broken glass,
Came dazzling around, into the rocks,
Came glinting, sifting from the Americas
To posess Aran. Or did Aran rush
to throw wide arms of rock around a tide
That yielded with an ebb, with a soft crash?
Did sea define the land or land the sea?
Each drew new meaning from the waves' collision.
Sea broke on land to full identity. (Seamus Heaney)

Day 20 of the Baton Relay began in thick morning mists and finished in glorious spring sunshine. After an agonising wait at the Westbury White Horse the RAF Para/Hangliding Association tandem gliders had enough wind to take to the sky and provide a unique perspective on the Wiltshire landscape to Bristol University Air Squadron students.
After landing the #RAFPHA team packed up and the #RAFBatonRelay handed over to BUAS who cycled the Baton around University of Bath campus before climbing the steep hill for a lap of the airfield at former RAF Colerne, now home to 21 Signal Regt. BUAS will be cycling and running the Baton into Bristol from Colerne visiting University campuses along the way, before concluding with a run across the iconic #Clifden Suspension Bridge on Day 21.#RAF100 @rafsportsfederation @rafnews
Reminiscing our trip to Ireland! We are absolutely in love with Ireland and the warmth of the beautiful people we met. We almost never plan our trips and we go where the journey takes us, meeting people and collecting stories on the way! At the end of our road trip across Ireland we had to stop in Clifden due to an approaching storm. Coincidentally it was the Clifden Art Festival week (which we had no clue about) and we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of it. One of the artist we met Mary Donnelly (her work is amazing) suggested that we meet artist Mo West (She was having a show along with her daughter and her grand daughter just a few blocks away). And we are so glad that we did. Mo was the highlight of our trip and such an amazing inspiration and her energy made up for the dull stormy weather. She is an amazing artist - print maker and her etchings were just sublime. We spent an evening with her, exploring her art, talking about her inspirations. She was born in India, stayed there till she was 8 and has vivid memories of her childhood in India. We had a great time sharing stories and while parting ways she gifted us one of her original etching prints!! Thank you! 🙏😊❤️ #ireland#clifdenartfestival#clifden#irelandart#mowest
