C H O O S E •. J O Y || ‘Whatever you frequently think and ponder upon, that will become the inclination of your mind’ - Buddah ... Owing to our surroundings, that promote ‘constant doing’ and ‘trying to work things out’ (whether that’s adverts reminding us of what we don’t have, peoples lives that remind us of what we aren’t doing or where we haven’t been), as humans we are wired to operate off of a negativity bias. Part of the reason for this is to protect us. For example, if we didn’t feel fear, then we would be in much greater danger of something happening to us. However, because of this negativity bias, it is our daily job to CHOOSE JOY. Every day something will try and bring you down, but you have to make it a constant habit to choose one (positive) thought over another. The more you practice this, the fewer those negating beliefs / thoughts become. Meditation is a focused and effective way of making this happen!
