Did the dang thing! Brought my passion of circus fun to my old elementary school! Principal thought the grade 6/7’s would be a tough crowd... but hey this town hasn’t really seen hooping. Killed it Miss Panda style and sounds like this will be an annual thing 👌🏽 And now 100+ more kids know about the amazingness of the HOOP, trying new things and following your dreams ❤️ Oh and I got to hang in the teachers lounge 😉 #misspanda#circusinschools#kidsfirst#dawsoncreek
2018 is shaping up to be pretty dang epic!
I was accepted to join the roster of performers for ArtStarts, an organization that sends performing artists into schools all over B.C.
In February I'll be headed to Vancouver to present at their showcase to *wow* school officials and get bookings for the 2018/2019 school year.
Kind of in a daze that I'll be joining an amazing list of artists, some of whom I’ve looked up to as street performers for years.
Looking at my "Big 3" goal list, I will be checking off *two* of the *three*! One, develop a street show, two, develop a school show. Wowza! Do I feel ready? Nope! Am I doing it anyway? Yep!
We are so thankful to receive a grow grant from - @ontrillium Ontario Trillium Foundation
And to MPP Bill Walker @billwalkermpp for getting up on a trapeze to deliver this huge check!
The grant is to deliver a project that builds on the success of a proven model or program with a $114,100 grant over 24 months to expand on a youth-focused circus arts program and introduce it to additional rural communities. Enriching people’s lives through arts, culture and heritage, this initiative is helping people be engaged in community-based arts creation, and has an impact on the lives of 11,300 people in the community.

As it's been a quiet day on the Ninjester front, mostly because I've been work working, I wanted to share this.
Anyone that met me @ninjawcastinguk
Knows that I love teaching juggling.
Moments like today are precisely why. ----------/////----------/////----------///// Great first morning club back at a local Primary school today.
8 really keen boys ranging from year 3 to year 5
My highlight. Being introduced to a new boy (7 maybe 8 years old) and being told "he's dyspraxic, so he's here to help with that"
What a great, positive step from Mom right there. Recognising that Circus skills could help.
30 minutes later the same boy can juggle 3 scarves and do tricks with flower sticks.
Proof that no condition is a barrier to learning. It's how things are framed and taught that's far more important.

The education arm of CirqueLouis is growing! We're going into schools and teaching students circus arts, which in turn means learning confidence, trust, teamwork, & more! Last week was our first day of basic acrobalancing at one of our elementary schools, and we rounded out the class by starting a pyramid! This week they want to go HIGHER-- because they're building communal trust. We love that! Want to learn more? Want CirqueLouis at your school? Visit our website or email Jessica@CirqueLouis.com ❤️
