Faith is a gift from God so that no one can boast(Ephesians 2) but this doesn’t mean we don’t have to fight to keep it strong. Expectations, busyness, fear all fight against faith, but we have a choice to make. Do we feed our faith or our distractions? To fight this good fight of faith there are some practical things we can do...1.Read scripture...everyday. Not just someone else’s interpretation of it, but sit and meditate on God’s word daily. 2. Listen to worship music and praise our Savior. Lift your voice-even if it’s shaky and off-key. It’s still beautiful to Him 🙌 3. Surround yourself with people who speak truth and life to you and be willing to hear them. 4. Pray pray pray and believe ♥️ The choice is yours what you feed. Choose well. Fight the good fight 🙏🏼 #faith#jesus#goodfight#choosewell#gift#trust#confidence
It is not our abilities that show what we truly are. It is our choices. Harry Potter
When it gets to something like clothes, we dont think that our choices could impact the world 🌎.. but actually they do.
Choosing to shop ethical brands means to be counscious that we are part of a whole and everything we do as an impact.
We are as powerful as that! 💪🏻
We created our body style with a ecosustainable fiber that comes from beechwood 🌳
It is cut, sewn and checked in a small ethical factory in the province of Venice and it is wraped in a reusable package ❤️🌱.
Probably, “but maybe the more terrifying thing is that if a company is using mercury as a preservative in their eye makeup, they don't have to disclose this ingredient on the label because the FDA does not require ingredients that comprise less than 1% of a cosmetic product to be shown on the label.
Mercury, however, in any form is poisonous, with mercury toxicity most commonly affecting the neurologic, gastrointestinal and renal/kidney systems. Mercury has also been linked to developmental toxicity, respiratory (lung) toxicity, vision loss, numbness and loss of sensation, headaches, fatigue, slurred speech, difficulty walking and skin rashes.
In 1974, the FDA banned mercury in most cosmetic products. However, it is not a complete ban. The FDA has said that mercury compounds may be used in cosmetic products in small amounts as a preservative in products that are used around the eyes.” So mascara, eyeliners, and other eye products may contain this very toxic ingredient and you will never know, unless brands are transparent and say so. I recommend going natural, making your own, or being a conscious consumer, and calling the companies that do, and use your voice and ask them to stop using this toxic ingredient. The ironic thing is, that beautifying ourselves now days puts us at major risk for health problems. You may shun this, or wave your hand in indifference, but let me ask you something., do you trust our government (FDA) to take care of your health when they have put profit over people for so long now? It’s the small things that add up, that either lead to our health or its decline. #choosewell
Be very picky about who you include in your life.
Every second that you spend with someone ends up affecting you in some way. It's all but natural that the kind of person you hang out with is the kind of effect you will be under.
Choose your clan wisely. The right clan will take you places and the wrong one will take you away from places.
There is a ton of life that seems to get thrown at us on the daily without us really having a choice.
We DO however get to choose how we think, feel and in turn what we BELIEVE about exercise and movement. We CAN choose to see it simply as a calorie torching punishment for the things we decide to consume OR we CAN choose to see it as a tool that will aide us in turning our bodies into our optimal hormonally balanced, power house of energy that carries us through EVERY single moment of life!! 📸 my last day of 80DO with Beachbody ON demand 3 weeks ago!
Our clothes have an inside and an outside. The outside shelters us and makes us express ourselves. Who we are, what we wanna be. The inside shows us how the clothes are made: the backend of the fabric, the seams, the threads. .
Like our clothes, the fashion industry has an inside and an outside. The outsides tells us we van be whatever we want. It’s powerful and glamourous. We seldomly see something of the inside of the industry: how are clothes are made by underpaid people under harsh and unsafe conditions. .
Today I would like to share 5 steps you can take to become more aware of the other side, the whole package you invest in when you buy your clothes. I promise you it will make it easier to match the inside of you clothing with your outside: your principles, what you believe in.
1. Inform yourself. Watch a documentary or read a book. I recommend De Verborgen Impact by Babette Porcelijn, @truecostmovie, Slow Fashion by @Safia_minney , Talking Dress & Dit is een goede gids by @MariekeEyskoot. I xan suggest nany more options if you like - just ask!
2. Take a sewing lesson. It will show you how labor-intensive making clothes is and how impossible it is to make the cheap clothes you find in mainstream stores without hurting someone.
3. Count your clothes. Ask yourself what you buy, what you actually wear, why you buy it. It will make you see much you already own and help you buying less and better stuff. I bet it will save you money to buy fair wear.
4. Look for secondhand options. It will show you how many clothes there already are. Do we need more or can we just use the stuff there is?
5. Follow a fair fashion blogger, like @whensarasmiles, @lidiaaf, @chantoile.nl @hills_palaceofbliss and @tinytemplestyling. They will show you how great style and conscious fashion are the best match ever. .
Dutchies can find an - even more - extended version of this post on the blog. Be aware, buy the change you wanna see in the world!

JOY! 😃 Today I choose to have joy. It is a choice. What I think upon and remember affects me - spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. You understand that too, right? The car gets a flat; the garbages are full; payments are due; you make a choice when you respond. Choose well. “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4, 6-7 #choosejoy#joy#choosewell
