Morning ritual cafe knitting. Cast on new project Leaves of Grass Capelet by @squidneyknits. Knit in Amuri possum and merino 8ply from @nzfabricsandyarn.
The perfect project for a mermaid faery autumn knitting project.
So as I'll be attending a yarn fest in September I've decided to only knit from #stash until then in a bid to help me take some much money as possible. So I've #caston my #carbethcardigan using this knitpicks arran yarn I've had for a while. I plan on making it longer hence my ribbed section being longer. #nevernotknitting
I absolutely can't get enough of this stitch marker. Ive finally decided to cast on the second sock to my purple and green textured polka dot socks. Second sock syndrom is very real, it's been 2.5 months since I casted off the first. Whoops 🙃 what are some of your techniques to prevent second sock syndrome?
I know a girl who turns 4 in two weeks. She loves green and dinosaurs 🦕 🦖 so why not knit her a dinosaur sweater 😆 @spektakelstrik has designed just the right #dinosaursweater#caston 👊🏻
I seriously need more knitting time 🙈🙈🙈😆☀️🦖
happy monday! i cast off my socks yesterday, which means getting started on a new cast-on today. i've got thrummed colourwork mitts using naturally dyed yarn from @longwayhomestead on my needles and a cabled hat using @westlakeknits on another set, so i decided adding in some lace would be a good option for more social knitting (yes, lace is usually my go-to for that). i'm casting on dorset from @circlerlamb for a shawl that will accompany the cabled hat and those @twinoaksfarmfiber socks for my mini-collection for @fromfieldtoskin and @uppercanadafibreshed. photoshoots on location are great incentive to actually prep these designs ahead of their releases in august. between their fibreshed/stash/naturally dyed origins, all of these projects also fit really nicely into the #skslowfashionapril kal too. so would a bunch of the #juniper projects i'm seeing popping up! have you signed up yet? week 2's email will be going out later today 🐑🌿🖤
I started knitting after the birth of my first because I read it would help with postnatal depression. Before that, I was always a crafter: crochet, painting, Arabic calligraphy. So many crafts have come and gone over the years but I've held onto knitting for the last 4 years, clinging to it even when I went through a period of never finishing anything. 💛
I always cast on too many things, starting more than I can ever finish and there are so many unfinished projects under my bed and in various boxes around my house. Why? Because I love that "new project" feeling, that euphoria when choosing yarn, winding it, finding needles, casting on. Casting on means the possibility of starting, the possibility of finishing, the possibility of other possibilities. Casting on means, when things get dark, I believe in the possibility of tomorrow. 💛
Casting on is the equivalent of a semi-colon in a sentence - it's unfinished, it's only just begun, an unfinished tale - pun intended. Casting on is the knitter's #semicolonproject ; 💛
Cast on, keep casting on, because you believe in the possibility of a tomorrow. 💛
I like colour, I really do.
But I love black.
Imminent cast on...space black mohair from Wool and the Gang for a supersized and super slouchy Hotline sweater.
It’ll be light and soft and fluffy and a perfect weight for Dunsborough winter.
~Sunday morning~ third cup, nearly human now
. So, yesterday evening (as a side note, does any one else say that, yesterday evening? Or is it just the county I'm from, it's pronounced more like 'yester d'eveneen', just curious!!) I wound some yarn and promised myself if I put in a good half hour tidying the disaster zone that was my desk and knitting corner I could cast on. So I tidied then instead of casting on dashed off and cut out a dress 😂😂
. This morning with coffee I finally cast on, I'm knitting Classic plaits by @dieuwkevm, I may well sub in an under foot heel flap though. Not feeling short row heels at the minute.
. Happy Sunday everyone, may it be filled with fun and yarny related happenings 💕💕
