This young man is traveling around New Zealand studying carving and pounamu. Over a couple of days he carved a Patu from a hokitika beach rock, braided his own 16 strand braid to go with it and made a jade disc bead to go on the braid. The finished piece was something to be proud of.

A jade wedding band. His wife booked him in to make this after they got engaged. The first couple of attempts did work out, but third times a charm! And from the pieces of jade core drilled from the centre of each ring he was able to make a bead necklace for each of his daughters.
