Some days I feel so inspired and the day feels like a breeze in terms of parenting, creating and lifeing no matter what. And some days like today smallest details make you crazy and you feel restless even things are going the same way as they were in these breezy days. .
So pausing for a moment to feel gratitude. Fresh juicy oranges, flowers, connection and having a goal. And also seeing the beauty in mundane, making magical. These will be in my focus today and also in the gratitude list too ✨💕 #visualstorytellingmedicine#grateful
Flower frenzy has begun for me - yesterday on the way to work I noticed Lady's Lace beginning to unfurl and got so excited because it is my favourite until I noticed a lilac tree budding up and, yes, that became my favourite. Last month it was magnolia. I am such a flower tart, I just love them all.
With that in mind I'm starting a new project to chart some of my favourite blooms #bloominhands . Like Sara of @me_and_orla fame I love a good pun.
First up, frilly, white tree blossom- so pretty. Please feel free to join me on bloom obsession 🌸
The Wild- Where life begins at the end of the sidewalk. Step softly off the fabricated, artificial path into the wild, the messy, the unknown that’s filled with endless discoveries, ripe for your senses. The leaves bursting with dew, bees buzzing, crickets chirping, birds caroling, trees towering with crackling laughter, water trickling over mossy stone, the flowers erupting with glorious color! It’s what’s real, what’s whole and what nourishes the deep down soul that was made from this very matter. In the Wild we are home. 🌿 “In Wildness is the preservation of the World” - Thoreau
I haven’t posted for what feels like ages! We’ve been soaking up the sunny weather and time with @yohaan’s parents as they’ve been staying with us over the last few days. They live in Delhi and we very rarely get time all together, the last time being two whole years ago. We said goodbye yesterday which is always really hard but they left us with full hearts annnnd a fridge and freezer full of yummy food 🤤 (kinda wishing they could have also left us with some more Indian sunshine too because some more of this 👆🏼 would be quite nice please)
We have just one of these white boards available at the moment on @vincenttrading, DM me to purchase at £40 inc P&P. I adore the natural wood ones but this looks incredible in the office! Styled with these adorable little @ikeauk glasses and this @nkukulife jug!
Are you a stationery addict? 📚🤷♀️I can't stop myself buying notebooks
Today the London Stationery Show kicked off and I've been following #londonstationeryshow very closely for any more stationery that I might just NEED
What stationery do you love to use for planning and taking notes? I'm always on the look out for new stationery - particually if they are handmade or from independant shops - do you have any favourites I should check out!? ✍🏻
I gave up using a hair dryer three years ago, so I’m used to what you might call bad hair. Some days I think my hair looks a complete mess and then someone will surprise me by saying “ooh I like your hair” and I’m thinking “seriously?”
Good or bad hair is subjective. You might think you’re experiencing a bad hair day and I might think otherwise. Sometimes we just need another perspective. A good friend to get us on the right track, to talk sense.
I used to find it hard to take advice but now I relish it. I’m looking for new perspectives. Truth. I want friends to speak truth in love, rather than say nothing. Like when you’ve a big fat bogey sitting on your top lip.
So what might have started out as a bad day for me will have turned into a good hair day, just because a friend has a different perspective to mine. “Trust in the Lord always because the Lord is the eternal rock.” Isaiah 26:4
Have been learning so much today, day 1 of mental health first aid training (provided by @mhfaengland) one thing that struck me on the topic of difficult conversations was our need for space; a safe space to be heard ❤️ silence and active listening is a powerful tool.
I went into M&S today and they had peonies. I smiled, feeling that inner warmth that only peonies bring me. I wait for them every year; longing for them to appear. They are my comfort after the harshness of winter. What do you long for at this time of year? What brings you comfort?
A happy place to start and end every day. Now if only I can figure out a way to spend time here in the middle of the day🤔
[#ad ] I’ve been using my @endy pillow for just over a month now and cannot imagine going back. I feel like it’s getting better as I continue to use it too! If you need new pillows i highly recommend it! #endysleep#lovesleep
Tuesday is usually my least favourite day of the week, mainly because it’s not the start of the week and it’s still a long way to the weekend, but today has been quite good so far. Good news from the orthodontist for the big two, a successful first sewing class for this term at one of my local schools and now I’m just wondering if I can squeeze in a run with the dog before I have to do the school pick up. I think there probably is ... Photo: from an evening stroll with the pooch and hubby on Friday. So lucky to have this park five minutes from our front door. Felt like a summers evening, loads of youthful people having picnics and walking. We even saw a naked man! 😳
