Upside to it all is a cracking dry season for hunting. They have a heap more heli shoots scheduled for the Cape but after it settles, it should be game on. .

A year ago I moved to Weipa in Cape York, FNQ... 2500kms away from where I grew up. I took a risk and ran with it. I packed up from what I thought at the time was my life and travelled with a suitcase to an unfamiliar destination. I bit the bullet and here I am... exactly 365 days later and I still pinch myself.
Do I love it? Yes. I love the lifestyle and what the Cape has to offer. Iβve never felt uneasy about my decision and everything has fallen into place. It feels right!
Do I miss home? I miss the little things. Being able to swim freely in the ocean, great coffee and the luxuries of a variety of food. Most of all, I do miss my family and friends. Being single in a small town can be hard. You donβt have that someone to lean on when you need it and you have to rely on your intuition to help guide you daily.
Hoping that your have guided yourself in the correct path... The exciting part about life is the unknown. The unknown of where Iβll be 365 days from now.

When I fish, I fish remote - 3 days travel, 4wd only to some hardly-known locations. I have the great privilege of having permission from Traditional Indigenous land owners to access many areas. The BEST part is sharing it with my kids! My Barra side-kick @lewyhopper not holding back on the excitement of FINALLY arriving ! π£π π¦ These are the memories I will cherish for a Lifetime!
