Let’s try this again. Maybe the 3rd time’s the charm?
Remember a couple weeks ago I posted pics of this #CanadaGoosefamily at #DesmondsPond in #SouthWindsorCT ? Well I saw on a S. Windsor fb group that some one driving up Pierce Rd. (right next to the pond—you see the ducks & geese out by the road all the time, there’s a fence but they go around it, there’s a “duck crossing” sign but people probably take it as a joke) hit 2 goslings—killed one, injured the other. 😨 #Speedkills ! #Notpayingattentionkills ! #Distracteddrivingkills ! Idk the status/outcome of the injured one. But there was a comment that there was more than one goose family there, so this week I went back to look. No geese. 😢 But I did find this #mamaduck and her 9 #ducklings . (Wish it was better quality—10X photo zoom & 6X video zoom—leaves much to be desired—& is very sensitive to movement!) 1st video shows the ducklings scooting across the water fast, including a good shot of one on the left that suddenly thrusts his head & neck up, I guess to pull his body out of the water, to go scoot closer to mom. #Howdotheydothat ?? Video #2 is mostly just for the #quacking . I wonder why she only started quacking at that point, after they’d been out on the water, with me watching them, for over 6 min.?? I got to see more #CanadaGeese#goslings later, at #SpringStBeaverBrook area in #WethersfieldCT .
The sign was at both locations.
