Spent the weekend wandering around Boise pretending to be a tourist. Only took about 563 photos so I think I did alright. If you're interested in helping me out with my newest project #ConnectWithBoise and potentially winning a painting with your Boise photos in it check out the link in my bio! I'm giving you an excuse to take more selfies, and I'd really appreciate the help! 😘😜👍
Oh my goodness!!!!!!! .
Did you know that every year, #Pantone (who basically rules the color universe - www.pantone.com) comes out with their color of the year. That then tends to dominate color trends. I just learned what their color of 2018 is.
Hallelujah!!!! Purple is my favorite, but especially the darker, jewel toned versions of purple - so #ultraviolet is perfect! How did I make it through almost half the year without knowing this!?! Hmmmm.... I think we're gonna have to have an ultraviolet project, y'all.
What's your favorite color?
Saw this idea posted by #nhahay and had to try it again. Did it years ago and forgot all about it😳. This example is with ink, but I also tried it with watered down tempera (less expensive) and it worked fine—great for my kids’ classes. ***Cut a piece of string and dip it in the ink. The trick is to not have the dipped string ‘drippy’. I let it rest a second on a paper towel before arranging it on the paper. There’s paper on both pages of the open book. (I used copy paper for practice, but the used watercolor paper so I could add some color at a later time.) You can also just do it straight away in your sketchbook👍. Gently pull the string out, and TA-DA!!! Try a little watercolor over it after—it’s fun to experiment😊 @abc123mom #stringart#artexploration#artexperiment#ink#teachingartist#craftclub#craft#inkart#abstractart#thisisboise#boiseidaho#workshop#artworkshop#boiseworkshop
