Secretly hoping my #blendtec blender is a portkey to transport me to the tropical places these fruits were grown by the touch of the smoothie button- until this stupid lingering winter weather is behind us.
Sadly, it was not.
Oh, well. Bottoms up! (The two Littles gulped theirs down before I finished cleaning up in the kitchen!)
Just made some "salvaged" juice. Half eaten green apple, one lone carrot, a few stalks of celery, and some frozen pineapple chunks from a pineapple that was getting ripe fast. Now for the taste test...not bad! Some serious celery aftertaste but honestly I could definitely sip a few cups of that back. I could have added a lot more pineapple chunks or an orange for some more tang to offset the bitter but yeah. Also I blended these vegetables practically whole (with water) in my new Blendtec and 50 seconds later they were smoother than a smoothie. .

I always used to think it was impossible to live a less waste lifestyle when busy. I used to run to the nearest store and grab a sandwich and something to drink to have for lunch, which always came in packaging. Later I realized that taking lunch with me for work or school didn’t mean I had to spend an hour every morning preparing a special meal to take with me. It simply meant I could make a bit more food for dinner so that I could take the leftovers with me the next day. Soon I noticed that I wasn’t leaving any trash behind while having my lunch anymore. I also didn’t have to spend money or run to the store. So my zero waste lunch has made my life easier after all 🌱😄
