A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I quit sweating the setbacks.
I tweaked my knee a few weeks ago and bc I’m an old man now I chose to sit for a few weeks and rest it... always a risky proposition for me since me giving up on fitness are like peas and carrots! But you can’t keep a good...ish man down. I’m back like that monthly autodraft you forgot about 😂🏃🏾♂️
I’m still mentally recuperating from Saturday’s Brooklyn half, I have to be honest and say it wasn’t my best day. I struggle with running in the rain, for me it’s a miserable experience. I tried to block it out but I couldn’t and the struggle was real (see the 2nd pic 😂). I gotta thank @tedowney90 (🐺!) for the constant encouragement throughout the race and the @adidasnyc team for the cheer squad on the Coney Island boardwalk at the end. @keefshoots got this pic of me high fiving the team. I’m gonna forget about this race and go onto the next
Huge congrats to @takeiteasley for blazing the field in China! Way to represent! 👏🏾💪🏾👍🏾

Great Wall of China 1/2 Marathon.
12th out 700 runners and 2nd in my age group.
THE HARDEST RACE EVER. A 5k up a mountain before 5,164 steps. What I enjoyed most was meeting all the runners from all over the world. I learned that positivity and passion unites all. Being nicknamed T'Challa by my tour group was pretty cool too haha
A huge thanks to my coach @suebeeornottobe. @tortoiseandharesports @cadenceperformancecoaching @blackmenrun @blackmenrunphoenix

Run Streak Day 11. I’ve said before that I’m not trying to get faster, but today, I felt good and pushed a lot harder than normal. The result was one of my best times on the home course - just over 12 minutes. At my current weight, that kind of speed is still tough on the knees, and I’m not sure how long I can sustain that pace (a full 5K still seems out of reach going that fast), but it’s an encouraging sign.
