📜 Citations de "Tous nos jours parfaits" de Jennifer Niven📜 « Écoute, je suis un fêlé, un cinglé. Je fous la merde. Je me bats. » « Tu me rends heureux,
Bien à l'abri de ton sourire radieux.
Tu me rends plus beau,
Quand mon nez me semble un peu trop gros.
Tu me rends spécial,

Hey book nerds!
Today was kind of a yucky day for me and I was going to post but got so busy at work and then came home and crashed on hubby’s body while he played God of War. Yay for having friends who will make us dinner!
So I received my one-time @thebookishbox for The Darkest Minds and ohmygoddddd. I was so in love with EVERYTHING inside. I will be sharing a full unboxing within the next few days, but want to make sure that other people get theirs before I do. 😁 if you haven’t checked out this series yet I really recommend it. I really loved it. Plus, The Darkest Legacy is going to be coming out, along with The Darkest Minds movie! So for real, what are you waiting for?
Which book series that doesn’t get a lot of hype would you like to see more merch for?
It happened... we FINALLY have heat again in my house. 🙌🏽 it’s been a long week without it, but I’m happy to be able to take a nice hot shower and not have to wear a sweatshirt! 🔸🔸
This month has been a pretty slow reading month for me. I had planned to read The Dream Thieves and Blue Lily, Lily Blue this month, but I just don’t see it happening at this point, and that’s okay! I’m not going to force myself to read when I’m not feeling it. I’ll get back on track soon enough!
It is definitely a “chug the latte” before taking the picture kind of day ☕️🤷🏼♀️.
OUR KIND OF CRUELTY by Araminta Hall is still messing with my head... it is so good. I’m going to go all English major on you for a second because we happen to be discussing Freud’s theory on the id, ego, and superego manifesting in modernist works and it go me thinking... the relationship between Mike and Verity is almost completely driven by what Freud referred to as one’s id... all about sex and violence (primitive parts of our brain)... similarly, Mike is almost solely driven by his subconscious (id), or the base part of him - he is all impulse and primal in his actions and desire for Verity - sometimes he’ll even wake up with glass smashed on his kitchen floor without remembering even doing it (the alcohol in his system obviously helps, but still). Sorry for that random ramble - it is always exciting to find a tie between assigned reading and the book I’m reading for fun!
One more ramble: one aspect of the book that is so mind-boggling is that just as one can relate to Mike acting on his baser desires (not in such a violent or creepy fashion, but we are all human), one can also relate to how he takes “truth” and perceives it in a way that fits his own wants or desires. Mike Hayes is not a character you want to be able to relate to... but he takes an email written to him by Verity and deciphers each sentence or word as if it is a code, reading into it so deeply instead of just taking it for what it is. He sees what he wants to see, rather than what is being told to him... something I think we have all been guilty of at times. However, Mike is also a sociopath... sooo he naturally takes it to a whole other terrifying level... not going to lie though, seeing little glimpses of your own behavior in Mike adds to the terror and uneasiness of the read.
Alright, ramble officially over! What book is blowing your mind this week? 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏻♂️
Hello my lovely bookworms. Sorry for disappearing for the last few days. Exams and the launch of my Mystery Packs have kept me busy where sleep and food have not been part of my schedule. Those of you in school, are you guys done your exams yet? And those of you who have graduated, you guys are so lucky!
I'm in kind of a reading slump right now. I feel like after reading the ACOTAR series, any book that I pick up seems boring which is so sad. I am currently reading "An Enchantment of Ravens," I am 2/3 through the book, but it's a slow process. I do enjoy it, but I'm not rushing to pick up the book.
Recently, I have discovered a new love for Funko's. It all started with me wanting baby Groot because he's so cute. I have started to collect Beauty and the Beast Funko's I just have Beast to collect. I will find him. And, @infinitefantasies_ I have my eye on your adorable Occamy! The next fandom I will be collecting is Harry Potter. I think soon I'll be needing a new bookshelf, which means I need to replace my bed with a couch 🤣
At @timelessprintsCa I have 7 Mystery Packs left, grab them soon, before they are all gone!
#qotd Have you guys ever had a hard time finding a book measuring up to the previously read book?
I have the next couple days off and the weather is supposed to be nice... That never happens!☀️ Better yet, my boyfriend is visiting today. This mini vacation probably can't get better.
Since it was my day off, I got up extra early and did all the errands: worked out, went to the post office, washed my car, cleaned my entire house, got a hair cut, went grocery shopping- so many adult things.
Now I'm sitting here, enjoying the sun and relaxing, feeling accomplished. I love this feeling 😎
I have only heard positive reviews about Educated, Tara Westover’s memoir about her experience growing up isolated from society with survivalist parents. According to the back of the book, Tara never stepped foot in a classroom until age 17 and taught herself what she needed to know to take the ACT and attend college. I am so curious to learn more. There are over 50 holds for this book at my library- it must be on so many TBR lists! Has anyone else read Educated?
🚨omg🚨 Did you see that they've caught the Golden State Killer/ East Area Rapist?!
I devoured I'll Be Gone in the Dark last month and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since!
Michelle's "letter to an old man" at the end of the book made me teary-eyed, I'm so pleased they finally caught the guy and brought him into the light!🔦☀️👏
If you haven't read and you like True Crime/mysteries I would highly recommend it! Especially now that they've caught the guy--you can read it and sleep at night!. #bookstagram#illbegoneinthedark#goldenstatekiller#booknerd#riotreads#bibliophile#truecrime#ssdgm#truecrimereads#mfmbookclub
Anyone played the Harry Potter mobile game yet? My initial reaction is *meh.* The graphics are good, but the gameplay will probably get old AND there was no sorting quiz. But we’ll see...I’ll probably get addicted anyway!
Because I work at home, I’m always concerned about my work-home balance. How We Work by Leah Weiss introduced some new ideas for me to help me bring more purpose to all areas of my life while building compassion. I would say that the book is geared more toward people who DON’T work at home, but still, I was able to find plenty of food for thought #HowWeWork Thanks to @williammorrowbooks and @tlcbooktours for the chance to read. #partner#nonfiction#professionaldevelopment#amreading#bookreview
I bought this last weekend, breaking my very weak-willed book buying ban. But I had to have it. I spent the afternoon talking to my husband about the case and how heartbreaking is was that Michelle McNamara passed away before seeing how this all ended.
I woke up this morning to a text from my brother (who is just as obsessed with true crime as I am) telling me the amazing news: that he's been caught. It's bittersweet, but I'm glad Patton Oswalt is able to see it for her.
I haven't read it yet though! I'm making myself wait a little bit 😣
Currently Reading 📖
I still haven't finished The Upside of Unrequited or Nimona 🙈 YIKES lol but I did start The Witch Doesn't Burn In This One by @ladybookmad and I'm really really enjoying it! I loved her first poetry collection and this one has a much different tone, but I can literally feel all the fiery passion behind the words while I'm reading them. It's so powerful!
QOTD: What drink is in the cup I'm holding? First to answer correctly gets 3 @enchantedbookmarks of their choice from me ☺️

Being married young isn't a thing of the past in Louisiana. And for Madelyn and Seth, it's a way of life. Except, no one prepared them for the skies ahead.
Moving to new places more times than either of them could count with new battles to fight at every stop, their Flightpath to happiness is turbulent.
Between Air Force Pararescue school, deployments, a baby, and the strain that military life can put on a family, they’ve discovered life has to fall apart in order to fall back together again.
When a terrorist attack puts Maddie's life in grave danger, their lives definitely fall apart, and Seth knows saving her might be the only thing that saves them.
FLIGHTPATH can be read as a standalone or as book one in The Love and Valor Series.
*Previously released as a Titan World Novella, with New York Times best-selling author Cristin Harber…now available with an extended epilogue as a full length novel.
"Creativity is sacred, and it is not sacred. What we make matters enormously, and it doesn't matter at all. We toil alone, and we are accompanied by spirits. We are terrified, and we are brave. Art is a crushing chore and a wonderful privilege. Only when we are at our most playful can divinity finally get serious with us. Make space for all these paradoxes to be equally true inside your soul, and I promise--you can make anything. So please calm down now and get back to work, okay? The treasures that are hidden inside you are hoping you will say yes." ---Elizabeth Gilbert
Some punchy bright spring flowers for your Wednesday!
I listened to the audiobook book of Big Magic and it was excellent! It can be all too easy to feel the work you do (be it creative or not) is a massive burden weighing you down; leading to suffering and possibly burn out. That certainly is what happened to me. I'm in a (social) scientific profession and do a lot of technical writing. While I've never really struggled to get reports done (not that I haven't agonized over writing them mind you), I've been sitting on numerous ideas for articles and even for a (nonfiction) book (these being extracurricular since I'm not in academia) that I keep putting off for a variety of reasons so I really connected to a lot of points Gilbert makes about writing & creative living. 💮
I think there's some really good, healthy, stuff in here that honestly I'd wish I'd had heard earlier on, to fall back on to, but I am reassured even more this is why reading is so important. Discovery...of ideas, of life, and of me. And I know a lot of discovery like this has to do with being open to the information at hand. So I'm just gonna go with I was meant to read this at this time, lol!
Shout-out to Mel over at @thebookfamilyrogerson and Holly at @readingontherun for inspiring me to finally pick this up. 💕

📚ABOUT BEYOND A DARKENED SHORE 📚 .
The ancient land of Éirinn is mired in war. Ciara, princess of Mide, has never known a time when Éirinn’s kingdoms were not battling for power, or Northmen were not plundering their shores.
The people of Mide have always been safe because of Ciara’s unearthly ability to control her enemies’ minds and actions. But lately a mysterious crow has been appearing to Ciara, whispering warnings of an even darker threat. Although her clansmen dismiss her visions as pagan nonsense, Ciara fears this coming evil will destroy not just Éirinn but the entire world.
Then the crow leads Ciara to Leif, a young Northman leader. Leif should be Ciara’s enemy, but when Ciara discovers that he, too, shares her prophetic visions, she knows he’s something more. Leif is mounting an impressive army, and with Ciara’s strength in battle, the two might have a chance to save their world.
With evil rising around them, they’ll do what it takes to defend the land they love...even if it means making the greatest sacrifice of all. #bookgram#BeyondADarkenedShore#bookstagram#yabc#yabookscentral#bookstagram#yalit#yabooks#yaliterature#yabcauthoroftheweek#authorsofinstagram#booksofinstagram#totalbooknerd#bookphotography#booklovers#coverlove#bookie#bibliophile#booklovin#yalovin
“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath
