Wilson’s Snipe ... my favourite time to bird is early morning but most places I frequent are on the east side of roads which means I look into the sun and that makes it harder to get good pictures. I decided to bird in the evening today and caught this fellow in different lighting.
Hoping all my friends and followers in the USA have a safe and happy Memorial Day Monday holiday - this short video is for my American friends (taken from an hour long session last Monday at Iona beach) it shows the resilience, strength and fortitude of the bald eagle! No ways was she going to leave her heron catch to the incoming tide and she kept a firm grip on it as she dragged it up through the rising water to higher ground. #baldeagle#elite_raptors#memorialdayweekend#america
Regrann from @brandon_bright_photography - WHAT THE... ?! You! Again?! These little dudes can be super funny. He was actually fussing at another swallow trying to land on his branch. They could of cared less about me! Thought I’d give ya a bit of a chuckle and a good look into the inner workings of a barn swallow! -
“After an owl eats the small rodents, birds, and bugs that are a part of its nightly diet, its stomach cannot digest the fur, bones, teeth, feathers, and insect shells from that food. These extra parts are formed into a tight ‘pellet’ inside the owl and are then are later spit up by the owl.” Sounds like bird experts are trying hard to avoid acknowledging that owls poop mummy-logs out of their mouths.
