Homemade sugar-free ice tea with granola bars and grapes = best Friday afternoon treat 💜 Check out my story where I show the granola bars (using @maddielymburner recipe) more closely! Also can we talk about black grapes for a second?! 🍇 I only ever used to buy green grapes until my lovely flatmate @isabellezig introduced me to black ones which are LITERALLY natures candy 🍭 I know I say that about a lot of fruit but seriously, these grapes are so sweet and scrumptious! ✨
Strawberry season has just started so I decided they would be part of my first official Foodie Facts Friday this week! 🍓🍓🍓Aside from being really sweet and delicious, strawberries are a great source of vitamin C, fibre and minerals such as folate, potassium and manganese! The high fibre content has been shown to help stabilize blood sugars and fibre also helps with digestion. They also contain a high level of antioxidants such as anthocyanins which gives them their red colour, flavonols, ellagic acid and catechins!
I am going to be making some strawberry breakfast bars later this week to start to my on-the-go food section. This section was created because when I’m at uni I have less time to spend cooking so I like to use the time I do have to meal prep things that I can take with me for breakfast, snacks and lunch! I’m hoping this section will have recipes all of you can try! #eatplantifully#theplantifulbrunette
Which fruit would you grab first?
Bruno’s first and only choice was watermelon 🍉, it’s his favorite fruit especially during summer!
I love his face on this pic🐶 it looks like he’s really thinking what to grab first☺️
Wish you all a fabulous Friday🤗
Happy FriYAY!!! Paleo pancake stack to celebrate thanks to @birchbenders I put a little extra water to make the batter runny and make crepe-like pancakes 🤩 also, cooked these in @fourthandheart Vanilla Bean ghee— LIFE CHANGING!!! In between each one is Greek yogurt, and strawberries🍓 Almond Butter drizzled on top and bluebs of course. I have been very busy and very productive at work today, and I FINALLY went to @traderjoes so I have a well-stocked fridge 😍
STRAWBERRIES| Strawberries are in season here in the UK. It is one of my favourites.
Strawberries contain less sugar than most other fruits. They have an amazing sweet taste and are very versatile in recipes.
Studies have shown that they are bursting with anti-inflammatory antioxidants which have been associated with lowering the risk for chronic diseases including cancer and cardiovascular disease.
It's great as a snack, ideally have it with some protein like 10 almonds or walnuts for blood sugar balance.
It is important to eat vegetables and fruits seasonally, they taste better, are cheaper and fresher with a higher nutritional value
I am so looking forward to eating them😃
What fruits and vegetables are in season where you are? What are your favourites?
