I miss my home tribe so I’m trying to copy this 3-legged downward facing dog I just saw my teachers do for the #UnlockYourBody challenge. 🐶 I mean, mine looks almost exactly like @gabriella.dondero’s ...my foot is practically on my head too! 😆 Happy Thursday!
Day 3 of #AshtangaOpensHearts is Shalabhasana | Locus Pose A + B.
If you think about it there"s a lot to love, all around. Palm trees. Papaya. Anything with coconut. The smile of a child. Beach hair. Salty air. A large coffee with a shot of espresso. Puppies and kittens. Avocados. Flowers in my hair. Yoga mats. What would you add to the list? 😍🌺 🐚

Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes.
Thursday is the instaday for remembrance, and this is what I got. A beautiful day, at my favourite place, with a fantastic person, and a picture that I felt captured everything.
Wearing my @yogapaws and @flexilexi_fitness Heidi Harem pants.
✨✨✨ What’s your favourite memory?

The correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, but crucially, that opinion can be roundly ignored and even made fun of, particularly if it is demonstrably nonsense !

Since my new chapter has begun with an operation it’s going to be a reflective and insightful one. I’ve already experienced a lot of pain, some horrific mistakes made at the hospital and a need to adjust and accept a new short-term future. And yes at times I’ve cried and there have been a few moments where life has felt less than pleasant but it’s been really nice to come to an acceptance that this is just a part of life and then noticing that every time I’ve come out of these brief episodes I’ve felt so calm, peaceful and grateful. And it’s because I know that this new perspective, that is developing deep within, is not something I’d have found without this life changing experience. Some may view an operation, that takes a minimum of 3 months recovery and a maximum of a year, as a setback or an inconvenience but to be honest the universe knows me only too well. It knows that the only way I’d take a step back from the day to day life I had and be able to figure out what is truly important in my life and find the time to rest and prepare me for the next exciting adventure, would be by making it impossible for me to move 😉 so here’s to the beginning of a journey I didn’t choose but I am grateful chose me 🙏🏼 #newbeginnings#newjourney#newperspectives#springishere#seasonschange#grateful#curious#lovethislife#benddontbreak#acceptance#reflection#seetheworld#learn#changeisgood
“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
#Heartopeners like #wheelpose are an amazing way to balance the #anahatachakra or #heartchakra which allows gratitude and love to flow more freely through us. Your body is a vehicle to express your divinity, use it!

This is a great way to open up the spine. I've only tried it for a few seconds before and didn't think it helped but this time I played around with my lovely friend @rovarspraket after class for several minutes and we were like ahh, mmmm, I feel taller! 💕
How about an asymmetrical backbend that's also a powerful heart opener? Ardha chandra chapasana (half moon pose variation) requires balance, focus and then you settle into the ease. Trust the foundation, use your bandhas and don't lose your drishti - look to the sky if your neck allows or to the ground. Most importantly, feel nature around you.
Flatten the scapula into your back, screw hands into ground to externally rotate arms, send coccyx through legs, press the ground away. #openheartsurgery
