NEW PR! 315 @150
soo i basically wasnt intending to max or anything i was just doing DL adding 5lbs till failure evey 3 minutes with 5 minutes rest with base weight of 250lbs... i kept my reps low from 250 up to 295 i did 4RM knew my max was 300 and i was able to pull it by 3RM surprisingly and from there 305 to 315 was just 1RM
Although I didn’t get to record my sets (since I came to the gym late and I was racing against time before it closed) I got a quick flex pic 💪🏽😂💪🏽. I had paused squats and deadlifts today and I was definitely feeling really strong. Another day in the books... The comeback!!!
HASHTAG FITSPO UPDATE:
Survived the final heavy workout with this slutty ass singlet on without my spine coming out of my mouth. Why is it final? Because I now feel comfortable enough to say I'm 7 days out from the 2018 District Open at @balancegym .
Tweaked my back a couple of times this year, so won't be able to go as heavy as I want to. But it still might be lit. Might stuff a roll of quarters in this hoe-ass singlet, but gotta make sure it's approved by this federation. #powerlifting#singletsaturday#squats#benchpress#wherethehoesat
These were my nine lifts at the Masters Brawl powerlifting meet today at #AmericanStrength in Maplewood. Yes, they are grainy. They were taken from videos from a friend, and I couldn't post them as videos.
1 Squat 214 lbs
2. Squat 245 lbs
3 Squat 270 lbs, a 5 lb PR!
4 Bench press 159 lbs
5 Bench press 176 lbs
6 Bench press 187 lbs (failed PR attempt)
7 Deadlift 314 lbs
8 Deadlift 347 lbs
9 Deadlift 402 lbs (failed PR tying attempt)
I have learned a lot of things through powerlifting, including the fact that it doesn't matter how much you lift, but that you do things to get/keep your body healthy. I know I probably came in last in my age division, but that doesn't bother me one bit. I had a lot of fun, met some cool people, and challenged myself to lift weights in front of a bunch of (mostly) strangers.

Light dead’s, squats, paused squats, and bench. Also did some back stuff and a pretty fun (aka torturous) ab workout:
20 inclined situps
25 declined leg lifts
30 sec side to side plank
35 flutter kicks
After each round 100 squats 😅
I forgot to do squats yesterday so I was trying to make up for it. It’s kinda depressing how sad it looks with these tiny weights 😂😭 but it’ll be worth it in the end. ✌️
Had a meet today and didn’t really go like I wanted to. Chipped my squat for a small PR. Came away with a huge 32.5lb bench PR. Deadlift strength was there but fatigue from the long day and cramps caused me to fall short. What I take away from this meet is to 1. Reconsider not cutting 17lbs in two weeks. 2. Plan my warm ups better; for both squat and deadlift I had to run cluster sets and still almost missed my first attempts due to time. We are athletes and We take the small wins and learn from our mistakes. Big thanks to @andrey_malanichev for outlining my program, it was the best training cycle I’ve ran. Also good to see @ghengis_john who is always someone I’ve looked up to. He was there helping me when he didn’t have to. Lastly thank you to my fiancé @whitneylockwood for sticking by my side and always encouraging me, I love you. Now for a little downtime and back to the playboook because the passion is still there and progress is a must. #powerlifting#squat#benchpress#deadlift#motivation#uspaeast#uspapowerlifting#passion#powerliftingmotivation#massweekend#tysonsplayground
Right now, this is the strongest I’ve ever been. Hitting PRs as they come, moving more weight than ever for reps and taking care of my mobility. I plan to ride this out for the long run and see what my limits are. I’ll never compete on the world stage but seeing the progress, having the chance to compete and share experiences with others in this sport has been nothing short of amazing.
Thanks @yensies for the pic!
