Ya know, it’s been painful not to post. My camera has been broken 😔😢 BUT...here are some #whole30 bars I made over the weekend! Super easy and so sooo good. 🥜 🥥
1 c cashews
1 c almonds
1 c pecans
1 c walnuts
1 c shredded unsweetened coconut
2 c pitted dates
1/2 tsp Himalayan sea salt
1 1/2 Tbs melted coconut oil
In a food processor, throw in the dates and pulse until chopped. Add rest of ingredients and blend until mixture is finely chopped and starts to stick together. Line an 8x8 with parchment paper, dump in the nut mixture and press tightly into the dish. Refrigerate overnight, cut into 10 bars and ENJOY! #eatlovegarlic
When in Louisville... the original Hot Brown at the original birthplace of the Hot Brown. A Louisville tradition since the 1920s. Open-faced turkey sandwich with bacon, tomatoes, and Mornay sauce. This was just a half order. Thanks @owenwyatt85 for eating the other half. Swipe to see my Mint Julep because it’s almost Derby time! 🐎🐎🐎 #kentuckyhotbrown @brownhotel
Today I went to @himitsudc to interview Chef Kevin Tien as he's nominated for a @sanpellegrino_us @beardfoundation Rising Star Chef of the Year award and stayed for dinner. Completely blown away by the food and amazing cocktails. Co-owner and beverage director Carlie Steiner created a creative drink menu based on her travels.
I was completely blown away by this rose cocktail. Yes, those are real rose petals. The scent of the roses against the vodka, ginger & lime makes for a magical pairing. Stop what you're doing, take your ass to Petworth and dine at Himitsu. Worth every penny. @priyakonings you were right!!! Kevin and Carlie are owners of Himitsu. Love watching their fun dynamic in this cozy dining space.

STICKY HONEY GARLIC SLOW COOKER MEATBALLS
These sticky honey garlic slow cooker meatballs are the perfect way to take frozen meatballs to a whole new level! Perfect for an easy appetizer or a quick entertaining dinner!
Having friends over for dinner is one of my favorite things to do. But life is busy, two kiddos and a bustling business can easily make it to where by the time I get home the last thing I want to do is think about dinner. One of my secrets to still making entertaining work is to simplify our menu, depend on my freezer and to use my slow cooker.
1 hour 15 mins
Serves: 52 meatballs
1 (26 oz) package of Rosina’s Homestyle frozen meatballs
For the sauce:
⅓ cup chicken stock
3 tablespoons soy sauce
⅓ cup honey
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon tomato paste
½ teaspoon grated ginger
½ tablespoon lime juice
2 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon butter
½ tablespoon cornstarch
In a small pot whisk all ingredients together except meatballs.
Bring to a boil.
Cook until thickened to desired consistency (5-10 minutes).
Pour over frozen meatballs and cook on high for 1 hour (holds well on warm).
Serve as an appetizer or with mashed potatoes and veggies for an easy dinner.
Veggie mezze platter with the creamiest beet hummus ever is on the blog, as the first in a 3-part series about portable dinners we can enjoy outside (preferably on a cute picnic blanket with someone who makes you ugly-laugh). There are also veggie kebabs, baked feta, garlicky yogurt dip, baked lavash & roasted/raw crudites involved, because options are everything!🥕Recipe link is in my profile ✨

Can you tell I miss Canada? Oh what I’d give for a huge (and I mean HUGE) bowl of poutine from Meet in Gastown right now ✨👅 note the side of kale that I thought would magically nullify this ginormous bowl of potatoes and #vegan cheese 😂 #junkfoodvegan
When life gives you sweet potatoes, make sweet potato chips. That’s how the saying goes right? No? Well anyway, I’m going to make these again as therapy from Kanye’s Twitter meltdown (or cry for help? 🤷🏼♀️). They are amazing and delicious!
After trying a few variations that burned half and didn’t crisp half, I found the winning recipe from from @minimalistbaker. The key is low and slow, vs high temp for a short time. You also have to understand if you have an oven that runs on the hotter side or the cooler side. Mine runs on the hotter side (obviously 🤪) so I reduced the time a bit. Recipe below and step by step in story highlights! .
- two large sweet potatoes
- 2 tbsp of grapeseed oil (olive oil will be ok too if you don’t have)
- flaky sea salt
Preheat oven to 250. (If your oven doesn’t run hot, go to 275). Using a mandolin (or a sharp knife and a steady hand) slice sweet potatoes in 1/8 thick slices. In a bowl mix with oil and sea salt. Make sure all slices are covered in oil. Line them in one layer on a parchment paper covered baking sheet (I used two baking sheets). Put the racks in the middle of the oven. Bake for about 1.5-2 hours depending on how they’re doing. They should be crisp to the touch. The recipe called for flipping at an hour but I didn’t need to. They were thin enough that they were getting crispy all over. Once you take them out of the oven, let them rest for a few minutes. Enjoy!
Putting some of that cheese i got in the mail to good use! 😍🍕 Potato, rosemary + garlic preeeetzza pie loaded with @rothcheese buttermilk blue, gouda + fresh mozz. My house smells so good you don’t even know!!! ✨🤤✨
Today, the cook (a.k.a. my new friend, Miguel) @grants.marketplace taught me how to make #HuevosRancheros .👆🏻Did you know they have a full #breakfastmenu ??? And that they serve it ALL DAY??? It’s that good kind of breakfast that you wake up in the morning wanting but don’t want to make yourself. And... He always puts a nice little garnish on his plates - you know, that #extratouch that warms your heart. Come try his breakfast and experience the friendliness that is my new place of work!🍴🍳🌿

Warning: only make these Half-Smashed Garlic and Dill Potatoes if you want to know what my childhood tasted like. Spoiler: it tasted like garlic. Lots and lots of garlic😘... And occasionally margarine, which I've swapped out to keep things clean and Whole30 compliant 😉

Well, I made Claire Ptak’s ridiculously delicious cream scones from the Saveur mag I’ve been carrying around for 2 years and, they were worth the wait. My words and @samsimonimaging 📷s on the blog, plus my strawberry jam “recipe”. Xoxo 💘

Hey friends! Happy 🐪 day! I’m oh so delighted to bring you this Strawberry Coconut Fool for a #strawberriesarethejam party 🎉 in collaboration with 100+foodies today! A big thank you to @squaremealroundtable, @whatannieseating, and @joyosity for organizing!!
This fool is quite possibly the simplest dessert. It’s made by folding a mix of chopped and puréed strawberries into sweetened whipped cream. I upgraded a bit by adding rose water to the strawberries, coconut milk to the whipped cream, and sprinkling with crushed pistachios.
I love strawberry season the most and this is a fantastic way to celebrate them! The freshness of the strawberries combined with the chilled cream make it perfect for all the lovely warmer days to come.
🍓For so much more strawberry inspiration, check out all the other lovely #strawberriesarethejam party guests. I’m tagging in this photo and in my comments. 🍓
Hello. I am asparagus. You should cook me tonight and eat me for dinner. Make sure to snap off my ends before eating me because that part of me is not the best. Also because it is Wednesday and because my dear friend @urbanfarmsla (by the way this is still the asparagus talking) does boss recipe collabs on Wednesday she has also shared this image and recipe. If you’re looking for help making your garden grow you should holler at her. You can also find the recipe on Tash’s website by searching for me, asparagus.
Dinner on the porch!! .
The weather is beautiful here! Honestly it’s a typical dinner situation the kids eat at like 5ish, something different than what I’m preparing for me and my husband. They’re so hungry and I get sick of giving snacks ha!! Avocado, strawberries, Colby jack, pretzel sticks, and pickles (they’re mine what do you expect 😜) What are some of your quick go to meals for your kiddos?!
