It’s been such a busy weekend that I didn’t even notice it was weekend 🤷🏼♀️. .
Friday we used all evening on photo shooting, and yesterday I was away from home for a special ballet session, - 5 hours 🙈! And then filming today for my youtube Channel... time flies 🕊. .

Feeling a bit exhausted today 😴. I have been baking and preparing our eldest birthday for days. Firstly to celebrate him on his actual birthday last friday with cake ‘in bed’ and for kindergarten 🎂 and then for the birthday party on sunday (Yes yesterday)🎈. On saturday we also had to go to one of his friend’s birthday party. Needless to say we’ve been busy 😫. .
I did manage to film a ‘Healing Back Stretches’ program yesterday after all the parties ✨. I didn’t want to let the people following my workout calendar down 💖.

I used to plan every pilates class to the detail. I had a monthly program that I would follow, and I did it in repeat for a very long time. It was out of fear actually, I was afraid someone would come in from the street telling me that what I did wasn’t real pilates. Now I hold on to the principles about posture, activating the core at all times and breathing. But other than that I don’t plan beforehand, I go wherever ‘the Wind’ takes me 💙. .
Sometimes it’s a harder program than other times, but I love the variety and feel more motivated. .

I admit it, sometimes I don’t feel like working out 🙈. .
However, I set up everything for a home session, and start with a full body workout including strengthening and stretching. I feel that once I’ve gotten started it’s a lot easier to continue on to a full session 🌸. .

This is how I like to work on improving hip flexibility 💛. .
Starting with a warmup of the adductors using the muscles actively, followed by a stretch. Going on to hip openers, working on improving turn out, ending with a mixture of both - adductor stretch and turnout. .
I have quite tight adductors, so I am always careful, making sure to keep my form right. .

I’ve been asked by some of the Ladies from my pilates classes if I ever get pain the day after exercising?!? .
The answer is ‘Yes!’ I do get muscle pains after workouts! Not every time, but there are times in a month, where I have to choose which muscle is still ok to workout. Some parts of the body simply need a break. I think it’s because I always push myself, and Challenge myself with new things; new yoga poses, headstands, handstands, improving my ‘ballet feet’, improving my Dance skills in general, build more muscle etc... I keep my body guessing 🙈. .
I do always take one rest day a week and try to listen to my body, but it’s really hard when I have a lot of things I want to improve and practice... patience 🙏🏼. .

When planning my workout week I always think about mixing strengthening the muscles and lengthening the muscles. .
I do a mixture of yoga, ballet and pilates. .
Pilates is for me the healthy way of building muscles, it will really get the muscles burning. . .
Ballet is still very tecnically challenging for me (the standing exercises, that is), and often I am not getting properly into each move as I am already thinking about where to place the foot next, when to turn etc. 🙈 I love the Challenge though and maybe one day it will get easier 💛. It is still a good mixture of strengthening and stretching. . .
Yoga is new to me, I love the mixture of muscle work and how it just feels so good with breathing and stretching in between. A couple of times a week I’ll Challenge myself trying to get further into different asanas (poses). Right now I am loving this mixture, but I love creating new exercises too, it’ll keep challenging the body as it keeps the body guessing ✨. Do you plan your week ahead workout wise?
Today we went to my son’s school xmas party, they sang beautifully 🎤. Afterwards we baked Christmas cookies 🍪 🎄! . .
The weather is not so christmassy yet though 🙈, but I do love that deepblue skie this time of Year 💙. .

Where did this weekend go?!? We’ve been so busy cleaning, decorating the house for Christmas, getting up the chrismastree and decorating it, visiting new places including a new shopping mall, washing clothes, and taking time to do yoga 🙈.. Well I guess that’s where the weekend went 😅. .
