After a few installation hiccups here she finally is, with both parts as I'd envisaged for this piece; part one hanging suspended in front & the other part anchored to the wall, delivering the news of the day for all to see.
This next exhibition of the @tenfoldtextilecollective has been a truly magical experience & I'm so very grateful to all that helped to make it happen for us & to all who've been to visit so far.
Big thanks to former teachers @_surfaced_ & @libbynoblet as well as rmit colleagues @debwillsives & @janette_wotherspoon for coming to visit 🙏🏼✨.
If you happen to be in Ballarat over the next two weeks, come swing by Backspace Gallery & say hi.. we'll be open Thurs-Sun 12-4pm until 29 April. A few of the Tenfold crew will also be there for an artist talk on Fri 27 April at 2pm for anyone keen to find out more of the backstory of our works.
Wow Buninyong thank you for coming out tonight and supporting our new gallery. It was great to see everyone and to introduce some of our amazing local artists. The feedback and vibe from the night is that Buninyong has a great appreciation of art and many local talents wanting to share and showcase their work. Open tomorrow morning at 9 am come down and see the great works #buninyong#ballarat#ballaratart#ballaratartgallery#newgallery
Very proud of my 11 year old son Thomas aka (Sketchy Thomas) for exhibiting his first framed piece of art in our upcoming Opening. He has a happy vibrant style which is like his personality and I know we will be hearing from Sketchy Thomas in the future. Come and check out Thomas’ work at our opening tomorrow evening at 6 pm! #buninyong#ballarat#ballaratart#ballaratartist#ballaratartgallery#ballaratlife @sketchythomas
HERE SHE IS!!😱💝💕
The lighting dulled her colours a little bit but at least she has a size comparison!😂🙏🏻✨
Reading and listening to everyone's interpretation of her was really interesting!😍😍😍
Thank you all SO MUCH for sharing!😊✨
To me, she represents a maternal tenderness between an orphaned cub and the spirit of her mother. The butterfly is cheekily watching over her, as she did when she was a newborn; but this time she has been spotted! Her daughter (now grown and with much to learn), acknowledges the spirits presence; as if to say she is fine on her own💖💕
I wish you all a lovely evening!😍🎀❤️
Be grateful and appreciate what you have😊💝✨🙏🏻💕
Well what can I say what a fantastic 8 weeks in our new Venture here at Studio 408! I have been pleasantly surprised at the amazing local talent we have here in Buninyong and Ballarat. I have loved all the various characters coming in to meet me and showcase their personal pieces. I hope they keep coming in droves because we need to keep encouraging each other to share and enjoy art. So new and emerging and old and re-surging keep getting out there and getting amongst it. So to all the artists from exhibition one, 18 in total, thank you for being apart of the last 8 weeks. Some of you will be apart of the next exhibition and others I hope to have you on board again soon. So tomorrow is the final day before the space will again transform so if you have some time come down between 10am-2pm and check out these great talents. #buninyong#ballaratart#ballaratartist#ballaratartists#ballaratartgallery#newgallery#localtalent
An honour and a privilege to sit with Aboriginal artist Louise Numina as she painted today here in Ballarat! I got to know Louise’s work whilst working at @thearteryaboriginalart in Sydney last year, and I couldn’t leave without buying one of her pieces. By random chance I met her here in Ballarat last night, and she was every bit as lovely as I’d imagined. Still a little star struck! ✨
