Vendor Spotlight: Betty aka The Sheriff
Betty is one of our original vendors here at the Market! She is 73 years old and has been setting up every Sunday for 36 years! When I spoke to Betty she had a spark in her eye which showed her love for our market is deeply rooted!
She explained to me how rich the history of not only the buildings are but the property too. So many people of all ages have visited over the year from all over.
Starting as Circle M horse ranch/farm than flea market and than becoming Mizener's Antiques, she has been around for most of it which is truly amazing!
There was a farm house on the front of the property to the right of the gate booth which was torn down when the owner believed it to be haunted. Betty used to sell her items out of that very house.
I could have asked a million and one questions and talked for hours but I asked her what was her favourite thing about being in the antique industry? She paused and said her customers she knows them well and even their families! Some of her regulars have been coming here for just as long as she has been here!
Betty expressed her love for antiques, the history and the market. She ended on the fact that she truly believes this market is one of the best in Ontario, which has kept her vending all these years!
