UPDATE: Trip went to the vet today because he has been having diarrhea ever since I switched him to rats (two other ball pythons in my house that don’t belong to me have been having the same issue since they switched as well) and I believe that the source I’m getting my rats from is not keeping them healthy, which is causing my ball pythons to get sick. I have stopped feeding my snakes food from this source and have stopped buying from them, and have switched to a different source that was recommended by a friend of mine! I do not want to sound harsh and I hate to say this publicly, but since I put the well being of animals before any business and such I will inform you of the site I was previously buying my rats from, as I and my vet truly believe they were making my snakes sick. You may choose to avoid this site or you may choose not to, that’s absolutely up to you! But please be aware my snakes fell ill after eating rats from them, from two different orders, so it wasn’t just a “bad batch”. The site is called FeederSource, please be aware!
The vet gave Trip a probiotic and gave me some to take home, instructing me to inject a dose into the rat before feeding, which should clear up any issues! I know some people will ask, don’t worry, I feed frozen thawed, I’m not injecting live rats with anything. I am hoping and praying my babies get better quickly, and my vet thinks they should make a swift recovery. -Nara aka “Mom” #ballpython#ballpythons#ballpythonsofig#ballpythongram#ballpythonlove#babyballpython#babyballpythonsofinstagram#snake#snek#babysnek#babysnake#snakegram#snakes#petsnake#snakesofinstagram#snakesofig#snakelove#snakestagram#reptilesofinstagram#snakesofig#reptile#reptilelover#normalballpython#ballpythonmorph
