On this grey, cold day, can you find the sun ☀️ turn your face towards it and all of the shadows will fall behind you. Journey inwards during the darker, cooler months of winter, and take this time to connect with gratitude of how far you’ve already come this year. Can you find where you may need more balance in your life moving forward, and take time to connect in with your heart ❣ space. Ground to the earth and send love and gratitude to the next chapter of this year. It is sometimes the journey itself, that is the most rewarding!!!! #autumnequinox#newseason#cooler#darkermonths#findthesun#heartopen#loveandgratitude#findyiurbalance#grounddowntotheearth#yourjourney

This is your time
You are glowing under the moon
You are shining near the fire
You will arise
Moving yourself up
To the highlands
Of your own heart
You delisciously sweet framework
Of brains and bones
Your existence is a miracle…”

Just last week we celebrated the #AutumnEquinox and now it's Easter, a time when we honour the return of the spring #Goddesses with #fertility symbols, eggs, flowers and pair-bonding games. Incongruous huh? Welcome to being #Pagan in the #SouthernHemisphere .
A lot of my peers struggle with this. Many just flip the wheel of the year on its head and celebrate their rituals 6 months out from our Northern friends. Some boycott the Christmas and #Easter celebrations all together, citing irrelevance in our times, Christian influence or the commercialisation of the holidays. Me? I’m always up for a shindig. Feast, good company, gifts, gratitude and prayer. Who’s complaining?
For me there is no conflict. The land here in Perth is just waking up from the dry, barren summer time. New buds on all the trees, fresh, sweet grass beginning to spring up everywhere. People like me who struggle with 40 degree days are starting to poke our heads out of our air-conditioned homes like shy animals in a Northern Springtime. And now that it’s not too hot to touch another living being, I’m actually interested in cuddling up with a #Beloved . Sounds like the return of the fertile Goddess is imminent over here to me.
My faith is one of #nature and energy. It encompasses the seasons of the land around me, the animals and plants… and also people. The collective energy of our greater community is extraordinarily powerful. When everyone around us is buzzing with the excitement of Easter or Christmas or New Years, the energy is palpable and communicable. And that’s absolutely OK with me. I’m happy to catch your Easter energy bug. I won’t lecture you on the theories of the pagan origins of your holiday. I won’t tell you you’re 6 months early. I won’t correct you if you name it #Beltane or #Mabon or Easter or #Ostara or Paschal or any blessed thing you choose.
Just hand me a hot cross bun smothered in butter, hide me some eggs & light me a prayer candle with gratitude.
Happy (insert holiday here) everyone!
