This morning we had an appointment with the educational psychologist to assess Theo, as part of his education, health care plan process. I was extremely anxious about the appointment but she was absolutely lovely and put my mind at ease instantly. She completed a cognitive assessment on Theo and a number of other observations. We talked about a lot of Theo’s abilities and difficulties. I always find it so draining when you spend such a long time focusing on the difficult things and the things Theo isn’t able to do; I’m exhausted! At the end, the educational psychologist agreed that she thought a specialist school was the best setting for Theo and that is what she would recommend in her report. She is hoping that we might be able to get Theo in for a couple of trial sessions before the end of the summer term, but will be dependent on how quickly the reports get collated. I’m sat here, left with a mix of emotions about it all ❤️ You fight so long for things that often you detach yourself emotionally from it and then once it all becomes a reality, all the emotions pour out. Sending out a huge hugs and love to all of you fighting the good fight for your babies, to get them the support and education provision that they need and that they deserve. One day, I’m hoping, it won’t be this complicated and the process will be much simpler for parents and children 💙
Good afternoon everyone,
Isn’t this the truth?!!!! This is one of my favourite memes in terms of autism awareness and acceptance.
This is what the entire world needs to keep in mind, regardless of levels of autism and any comorbid conditions. These loved ones of ours are amongst the strongest human beings we will ever know - that is amazing if we take some time to consider what this really means. 😊💪💙💙💙 Credit:

We have been going through such a rough time with Cullen. I get called by the teacher almost daily with reports of violent behavior. Yesterday I had to miss work to pick him up. When I arrived he was in a padded room like a Gotham villain in Arkham. Now the teacher says he might not be able to complete his last two weeks of school. Due to his poor behavior. I am absolutely sick about it. I have no where or anyone to turn to.
