What a thrill to have my work back at the @dairybarnarts! My i Quilt is part of the exhibit, Modern Quilts Designs of the New Century, which is now open and runs til Jun 17! Sweet!! #austinmqg#themqg#modernquilt
Part-way through quilting (in sections)... view from the back through the “batting”. Using drapery lining as middle sandwich later for a super thin summer quilt for @johanna4480 #austinmqg#modernquilting#japanesefabric
Post #6A - This past weekend, my guild hosted Jacquie Gering! The lecture was titled Intuitive and Outsider Design. @jacquietps inspired us all! #austinmqg members also had the opportunity to learn Jacquie’s Slice and Insert techniques or Creative Quilting with the Walking Foot. It was a fantastic weekend full of inspiration! What was the most recent class that inspired you?
My 3 seeds of some new creations from the AMQG “Slice and Insert Improv” workshop with @jacquietps It will be fun to watch them grow ✂️and see what they become 🌳Thank you Jacquie Gering ❤️. #austinmqg#sliceandinsert ✂️✂️✂️#amqgsnipsup
Lovely workshop today with @jacquietps exploring and playing with slice and insert! And isn’t this the loveliest modern quilt guild?! (Swipe and you’ll agree)
Thank you @alexcodlin and @austinmqg!💕
The great action shots are reposted from @runningdoequilts & @austinmqg

To the harmonies embedded in their sequenced affairs
Angels will scatter the land, fluttering, flying like moths to the flame
Rising to march on the eastern plague, rising to march on the savages ways
Fluttering, flying like moths to the flame
Wait until tomorrow
Needed to make a demo block for my #moonstonequilt class yesterday with the @austinmqg. I was so inspired by a recent block by @zephyrskies using #divingboardfabric by @alisonglass that I asked if she’d mind me making my own version. I’m glad she said yes because I loved making these blocks on my flight home to NYC last night.
One of the best parts of working on Moonstone (and any pattern I’ve put out there) is seeing how you all interpret it and make it your own. It truly is an amazing thing to witness.
So thank you, Irina, for making a splendid version of Moonstone and for letting me riff off it. And thank you to everyone in my class yesterday and to all the other Moonstoners out there!
Kit available through the wonderful @karenthediyaddict via the link in my bio.
Thanks for coming to Austin @giucy_giuce Your trunk show was incredibly fun!!! Next time, please bring your grandma 😉 Can’t wait for the Moonstone epp class tomorrow!
Thanks also to our awesome board members @saracnewsom @danceswithquilts @daniellemariani @runningdoequilts and @praterclp for all the work setting up this event and to all of our amazing members! #giucygiuce#trunkshow#austinmqg#wishyouwerehere#moonstoneclasstomorrow
My friend Amanda @whatthebobbin lost one of her furbabies the other day & he was practically an honorary member of the #austinmqg . So, I felt a tribute was in order to #roryroogram . I altered the Kitten Around pattern to look like him & then I thought he would look much happier inside his pineapple cat bed. I don’t have much yellow & cream fabric, so I might redo him in better colors... I haven’t appliquéd anything down yet. Pets are family & this guy is dearly missed... 😿
How cute is this pattern?! It’s part of a foundation paper piecing collection by @lillaluise from @lovequiltingmag Issue #56
Made for dear friend & new quilter @senjiandridgie as a birthday gift that also included the issue of @lovequiltingmag it’s featured in - issue 56 (great inspiration in this issue!), the pattern, and a forthcoming lesson on foundation paper piecing so she can make her own 😄
It’s the only quilt I’ve made in quite awhile so even if it’s only 8” I’m glad to share it.
Background fabric is #snaptogrid by @kmelkight and the bunny is a favorite #yuwafabric print from @bunnysdesigns
I guess I’ll play too #igquiltfest
I’m Sarah & I’ve been sewing for almost 2 years now. I enjoy making quilts & bags. I do not enjoy basting or binding. I’m still in the “try everything” mode of learning. I see something I like & I take a shot at making a block or two. I just went to visit my first quilt guild meeting tonight at the #austinmqg which was a really cool way to start the month!
