When I made the first sketch of Orchids I didn't plan on making it a series but oh well 🙃 This is my reinterpretation of The Flowers of the Four Seasons, a traditional motif of Chinese art and culture consisting of 4 flowers which represent the seasons and also the elements of the 4 Nobles Ones (Confucianist junzi) Due to the huge influence of ancient China, this motif is well received and localized in neighbor countries in the Sinosphere, and the flower pick varies based on their geographic and cultures features.
This second one, "Mai", is apricot blossoms. Originally in Chinese culture it's considered a winter flower but for Vietnamese it's a symbol of spring.
