Breed #Art Foundation is happy to announce:
Mario Consiglio (IT) 'LAST PRIMITIVES'
#May 5 – June 30 2018
Curated by Luca Rezzolla
'LAST PRIMITIVES‘ presents Mario Consiglio for the first time in Amsterdam at Breed Art Studios in the evocative brutalist setting of Plan van Gool, created in 1968 by architect Frans van Gool and part of the 100 young monuments of #iAmsterdam . The #exhibition runs till June 30 2018.
Thu – Fri – Sat 12:00 – 18:00
The body of #artworks consists of 13 ‘ #Shields of Peace ’(specifically made for Breed Art Studios) and the sound and visual installation ‘No Borders’, freshly presented in Perugia. The scene will be well patrolled by ‘A #dog inside’
Tribal shapes and #bright Lycra colors will recall different cultures, connecting them with an imaginary line that starts from native Americans and runs through northern Europe up to Africa and beyond.
Ironic and powerful in his postpunk messages shouted by letters and loud techno colors Mario Consiglio talks about humanism, as a form of ‘primitive purity’ and sees the necessary interaction of animals and cells as a symbol of symbiotic and supportive cooperation that is becoming extinct.
Approach the dog, it will not bite you… go closer… a #city will appear, a microcosm inserted in nature where #contemporary architectures become molecular constructions, sometimes recreating the internal organs of the animal itself.
We Are the last Primitive people! .
