Let me get this out in the open. NEVER TRUST MAINSTREAM FOOD BLOG REVIEWS. I was under the impression that labelling something as 'Authentic' meant that it is the real thing or as close to it as possible. Having the audacity to label a dish authentic takes it to whole new level of shame. Seeing as this was the new kid on the block #wakerxoppa offering 'Authentic Army Stew' or Budea-Jjigae, we had to try it. Having outstanding reviews in almost all the food blogs, we decided to give it a try.
Wow. That moment you take that spoonful. Complete and utter dissapointment. It was so depressing that we took a moment in silence to the passing of tastebuds. Never will i ever torture my pallete again by revisiting.
Tomato Soupy Ramen with Sausages and Mushy Beans. That is all it was. Bland, unflavourful, weird tasting. I never knew this much dissapointment existed. If you come across a post stating otherwise, is just some idiot behind a desk seeking followers to view his/her foodblog review.
On the other spectrum of taste, it may well be your best and closest experience to the Authentic Budae-Jjigae, to give @mukshidonnasg a go. The price may be a little steep, but it is well worth every penny. The soup base itself is other worldly. It is so good that you can even opt for fried rice after. Cooked in the same broth and using the same pan you were served prior.
To even compare these two in the same category is a slap in the face. They dont belong together. Opt for #mukshidonnasg if you are planning to give Army Stew a try.
Keeping it real and brutally honest.
Let this post be the savior to your tastebuds. Thank me later ✌️.

Korean food here is surprisingly good!! Skeptical at first as there were not many ppl in the shop..but the crowd started coming in late..and every table had similar dishes that were the more popular ones..3 of us and 3 different dishes..nom nom nom..the crispy boneless chicken uses a distinct rice flour..not oily and really can eat non stop..the kimchi pancake was crispy!! Rare to get good crispy pancake in sg..the last good one was in Jeju..and well army stew is a must for korean meals haha..thanks for the treat @thebossleng

I love the idea of how God did not set His love on His people nor choose them because they were more in number than any of the people, for they were the fewest of all people (Deu 7). I thank God for He sets His love in this ministry not because we are big in number, for we are few. And more than words can say, I am thankful and grateful that few with integrity is goal!
