Guys I just made cauliflower pizza crust by mistake 😀🙈🤓. Finally! I was working on making some cauliflower frittatas, and I realized when I was adding flour that it might turn into a dough. I continued to tweak and tried this one to see if it sticks together and gets crispy - two things I didn’t think were possible with cauliflower. I have no recipe yet but I know what to do next time and I’ll write it down. 🤓 Just a note so I don’t forget, it involves cauliflower rice, eggs, Parmigiano, red onion, lots of spring onion and parsley, Cassava + coconut + @californiacountrygal flour mix (few tbsp of each), spices, some marine collagen. A few years ago, I happened to read an article from Dr. Daniel at Washington Post, “We have science that supports the use of cartilage, gelatin, and other components found in homemade bone broth to prevent and sometimes even reverse osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, digestive distress, autoimmune disorders, and even cancer.”

<Beef Bone Broth>
-2 lbs grass fed beef marrow bone 소 골수뼈
-1.5 lbs grass fed beef short rips 소갈비
-1 onion, cut in half 양파
-5 stalks green onions 파
-10 cloves garlic 통마늘
-5 slices ginger 생강
-1 tbsp whole peppercorns 통후추
-Filtered water 생수

👩🏻‍🍳The first step of making bone soup is soaking the bone in the cold water for about 5 hours. This procedure is very important to remove all the smell. Change water frequently so that all the blood can get removed as well.
👩🏻‍🍳Put all the ingredients in a 8-quart stockpot and add cold water to cover. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a low simmer for 3-4 hours. While simmering, occasionally skim foam from the top using a ladle.
👩🏻‍🍳Let it cool first them remove meat and bones; reserve meat for another use (such as soup). Pour broth through strainer and store in the refrigerator in an airtight container or in smaller containers overnight. Remove solidified fat from the top of the chilled broth.
👩🏻‍🍳Add sea salt to taste and drink the broth as is or store in fridge up to 5 to 7 days or freezer up to 3 months for use in soups or stews.

어려서부터 먹어왔던 사골국이 지난 몇년사이 미국에서 수퍼푸드로 알려지면서 인기가 급상승하고 있어요. 홀푸즈에 장보러 가면 소뼈를 사가든지 미리 만들어진 브로스를 사가는 사람들이  예전보다 눈에 많이 띄어요. 뽀얀 국물을 만들기 위해 설렁탕에 타락(우유)을 넣었다가 쫓겨난 장금이 생각이 나면서 식당에서 파는 뽀얀 국물의 비밀도 장금이로부터 전수 받았을지도...🤣🤣🤣
그런데 사실 오래동안 고으면 국물이 뽀얗게 우러나오긴 해요. 다만 너무 오래 끓이면 사골 속 인성분이 빠져나와서 칼슘의 흡수를 방해하고 뼈 속 칼슘까지 빼내간다는 기사를 읽은적이 있어요. 혈중에 인성분이 높아지면 칼슘 농도가 떨어지고 칼슘농도를 정상화시키기 위해서 칼슘을 빼내어 간다는것. 그러니 오래 끓인 뽀얀 국물이 꼭 좋은건 아니다 싶어요. 그래서 뭐든지 적당히가 중요한거 같아요. 그 ‘적당히’가 제일 어렵지만요.😂🙄

A last minute salad addition for supper! If you stock your fridge with a few produce staples, you can always throw an awesome salad together. My fridge finds tonight included organic baby spinach, sweet orange and yellow peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, green onion, red onion and cherry tomatoes. My go-to simple dressing is equal parts extra-virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar (3 tbsp each) with a tbsp Dijon mustard, clove minced garlic, splash of pure maple syrup and sprinkle of freshly ground black pepper. Toss and infuse your body with loads of gut-brain-heart healthy & potent plant compounds!

The loss is even greater as we age! You may have up to 20% less collagen in your skin when you hit 40s.
What to do about it? While we can't completely reverse aging, we can slow it down significantly with proper nutrition, nutrient timing and supplementation.
Some of the things you can start doing today:
1. Make sure to consume enough vitamins essential for collagen production. One of these is C. Eat lots of colorful veggies and berries, limiting your fruit consumption. Supplement with vitamin C and use topical vitamin C serums!

2. Reduce sugar intake! Sugar does speed up collagen break down. By sugar I don't mean just table sugar. And if you have not so great blood sugar control, consider a very low carb diet for some time. 
3. Make sure to consume adequate amounts of high quality protein to supply amino acids for collagen production.

Turmeric 🙌 I've been suffering from mild nerve pain lately (such as sciatica). And while I am undergoing a treatment to cure my digestive problems, which appear to be the big culprit here (I know, that sounds insane but  it actually makes sense), the pain is not cool. Unfortunately, anti-inflammatory pills have awful effects on digestive health, so I'm trying to find natural alternatives. Turmeric has, among other things, anti inflammatory effects. I've just started drinking turmeric tea and will keep you updated.

Can’t stop, won’t stop eating these “chocolate” carob fudge bites 😅. They have: coconut butter + coconut oil + vanilla extract + coconut cream + carob powder (as a substitute for cacao) + collagen peptides. Recipe by @squirrel_kitchen is linked in my bio, I just added the collagen peptides for extra nutrition and removed the honey because the coconut butter, carob and vanilla are sweet enough for me. Super easy, quick and delicious! Yum! 😋.

When body & mind is craving for colour 🌈
My meals have been MESSY but delicious AF recently. 👀With this past month being a non-stop grind, I have REALLY been slacking on my meal-prep and home cooking lately - which wastes $$ - it’s always best for people with compromised digestive systems to know EXACTLY what they are putting into their body. So I am putting a STOP to that 🖐🏽 and taking back control over my time and the food I prepare. 
I spent the morning prepping food for the day which doesn’t sounds like a lot but it was to me! So I made my normal #garbagesalad ingredients for the night and then a heaping pile of sautéed spinach, one cage-free organic egg, nutritional yeast, 1/2 avocado and @bitchinsauce chipotle spread 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 it was a wonderful way to start a busy 12 hour day. 
When you’re running on a busy schedule, taking back control of your time and things that make you happy can be a STRUGGLE. Not everyone will think my food is delicious, or beautiful but I DO. And that’s really all that matters. Today I made a 🇱🇧 Lebanese inspired Popsicle flavored with Rose 🌹 Water,  Mastic, “مسكي”, Pistachio, edible Rose 🌹 Petals and Chia seeds for extra health benefits.
1. In a bowl mix a can of Coconut 🥥 milk and 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt. I blended a very small piece of beet root  then added it to the mixture to achieve a pink natural color.
2. Add 2 teaspoons of Rose 🌹 water, Rose Petals, a few drops of Vanilla extract, 1/2 a tea spoon of powder Mastic which is optional and sweetener of choice. Here I used a few teaspoons of Stivia.
3. Soak your pistachios in warm water and peel of skin. Blend pistachios with a teaspoon of Greek yogurt and sweetner of choice.
4. Fill your popsicle containers 3/4 with pink coconut 🌴 yogurt mixture then add pistachio mixture on top. Garnish with a few soaked pistachios.
5. Cover mold and put popsicle sticks in freezer overnight 
Make everything you consume worth eating and Voila...Enjoy😜

Soak your pistachios in warm water and peel of skin. Blend pistachios with a teaspoon of Greek yogurt and sweetner of choice. 4. Fill your popsicle containers 3/4 with pink coconut 🌴 yogurt mixture then add pistachio mixture on top. Garnish with a few soaked pistachios. 5. Who loves tea! I do hot or cold! I love green, black, oolong, rooibos,pur-teah, turmeric and I am adding chaga to my list. Great natural medicine and I encourage you too drink 3 or more a day especially if you need more water  consumption in your day!

1/3 sweet potato sautéed in a tablespoon of coconut oil or Ghee on LOW. When soft, add 1-2 cups of chopped veggies of choice (but I would recommend cabbage or broccoli slaw, red bell pepper, yellow onion, and zucchini) and crank the heat to medium to brown the veggies (I cover them to maintain moisture). Sprinkle salt, pepper, turmeric, paprika and a handful of almonds in the pan when your veggies are browned. Poach one egg and place on top of your veggies pile, and top with 1 tsp of fresh dill. Now consume plz.

#Breakfast is served! Overnight oatmeal in the crockpot. It tastes just like Apple pie filling and I am totally down with that! Used a hack with cooking it in another dish to keep it from burning which worked great. Getting back into the week!  Only 6 more weeks left of school 😅. It’s rainy and gross outside, the weekend went by way too fast and no one wanted to get up today 😬. But none-the-less, school lunches were made, and kids were sent off to school 😜. I timed it this morning, and it only took 7 minutes to pack lunches. I’ve had some people tell me that they don’t have time to pack lunches like this in the morning. 🤷🏻‍♀️. It’s 7 minutes!  It’s not like I’m cutting things into animal shapes and adding decorative flags on toothpicks or any other Pinterest-perfect features 😂. But more power to you if that’s your thing! 🙌🏼. Anyway, I think that the mental shift is a more difficult change to make than the actual change in what you are packing.  Today the kids got left over meatloaf, strawberries and blackberries, rainbow carrots from @thebountyboxchs and some seed crackers and hummus 😋

Good morning! Slightly different schedule today, so I was really able to take my time and enjoy my breakfast this morning 😊 I made homemade baked beans using a five-minute recipe from @thehappypear, and served it with a @bfreefoods g/f pitta (HExB), lots of lovely rocket, and topped it all off with fresh parsley and alfalfa sprouts. I'm not usually a big fan of baked beans because I find them too sweet, but these were soooo good! Plus, this portion was only half a syn to accommodate for a little maple syrup. Yum! 😍

Slightly different schedule today, so I was really able to take my time and enjoy my breakfast this morning 😊 I made homemade baked beans using a five-minute recipe from @thehappypear, and served it with a @bfreefoods g/f pitta (HExB), lots of lovely rocket, and topped it all off with fresh parsley and alfalfa sprouts. I'm not usually a big fan of baked beans because I find them too sweet, but these were soooo good! Plus, this portion was only half a syn to accommodate for a little maple syrup. Yum! 😍

But after a weekend of excess, bad food choices (loved them at the time though 🤓) the pain is back today and horrific...so there you go...I am now 100% convinced

Day 1: Leeky Gut Mash😋 .  Recipe:
• 1 head of cauliflower washed and broken apart
• 2 leeks washed and chopped (cut and toss away the darker green ends)
• 1 cup (1/2 a bottle) of Hug In Mug flavored @brubroth • 2 tsp Real Salt @redmondrealsalt 
1. Pour 3 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a large pot with the chopped leeks and sauté until browned
2. Add the cauliflower, 2 tsp salt, and pour 1 cup of Bru Broth into the pot
3. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to simmer
4. Cook for about 10 min until cauliflower is soft
5. Mash everything in pot together and continue to cook for another 5 min
6. Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

A few weeks ago I started implementing an Anti-Inflammatory Diet.  I had already been doing pretty well with food.  I had already stopped eating processed foods, most dairy & gluten.  I didn’t like how I felt after eating those foods. I was still eating cheese, yogurt & an occasional piece of bread, pizza, tortilla or treats.  I don’t see this way of eating as restrictive but rather as healing.  When you eat better, you feel better!  I also add in eggs, chicken, turkey, venison, brown rice, quinoa, fruits & veggies. I still have balance & enjoy a treat on occasion or a meal out with friends or family. Once with @wholehealth_emily for a girls night, for Scott on his birthday, and again last night w/ Scott. It’s an AIP (autoimmune paleo) crust & marinara sauce and it is SO easy + all simple real-food ingredients. The crust is mostly arrowroot starch/coconut flour & the sauce is made of butternut squash & beets! The recipe is from #thehealingkitchencookbook which if you follow me here, are a client, friend or stranger you know this is my favorite cookbook 😂. There’s something about homemade crust & sauce that is soooo empowering and makes every bite even better. —> topped w/ yellow zucchini squash, arugula & chicken.
