Reflection of Healing Art Show for Alumnae Night at TK tomorrow night (Friday, 4/27)! As part of the evening’s activities, alumnae will be invited to walk through our Art Studio to view resident creations. The show is interactive and includes splatter painting, a walking Labyrinth created by Maple Lodge as a mindfulness activity during their art group, and a collective jewel activity. There also will be 1,000 crane birds on display, recently created by our women on Willow Lodge. Before Alumnae Night, our current residents will be able to view and interact with the exhibit, and on Saturday during visiting hours, the art will be displayed in our Admin Building for families to experience. Curious what happens when you go home and your SWT program is over? Although you've left the United States, your experience doesn't have to end… in fact, we hope it doesn't! The SWT program gives you so much new insight, great new ideas, and more importantly -- new connections with some other like-minded individuals! So keep in touch with Greenheart Exchange, and we can even help you create your own alumni group in your home country! Curious what that could look like? Check out @yeaghana - they're off to a fabulous start! #SWT#RouteJ1#Alumni
Inspiration was –and is– what I have been looking for lately, and I hoped a few events in Liège would help in this regard. Did they inspire me in the end? Maybe not or, in any case, not the way I expected they would.
This week enabled me to interact with awesome people, whether friends, professionals or perfect strangers. Hearing them talk about what motivated them and how they had planned/managed to achieve their goals was both exciting and fulfilling, even more when they somehow got you involved in the actions they would take.
These last days essentially focus on professional life and studies, and they also (mainly?) did so through all those social interactions. Through genuine people who would do things naturally, willingly, without asking for anything in return. Hospitality, kindness, advice, goodwill, listening skills, mutual aid, good mood, understanding/compassion, simplicity … are words that could describe my short stay in Liège. And I now realize that these very same ideas also came out of the professional stuff I attended. I might be the only participant to come to that conclusion but at least, I know that it is something important to me: inspiration springs above all from authenticity.
So, thank you people for [un]consciously guiding me towards what I should focus on 🙏🏾. I couldn’t expect any more efficient, positive life lesson.
(@little_l005, @dimitris_jim_panagiotidis, @fredcolantonio, Madame @benoitnihant, Morgane, you are among these people ;) !)
Since the moment you walked into reveal in a onesie with a plastic bag over your head, I knew you’d always keep me laughing. No matter how many generations of Little’s our lineage gets, you will always be the one who made me a grandma, and I hope you have the best of birthdays @samanthaashley4 . 🦁💙🌻👵🏻
What was your most valuable takeaway (tangible or intangible) from DNS? That’s what we asked DNS alum, Sean Adams, and this is what he said: “The environment in the DNS ensured that we all considered nutrition and metabolism from their foundational principles and across species. This focus on the basics and embracing of comparative nutrition uniquely positioned DNS students to tackle almost any question, and to consider science through an integrative lens. This training also prepared DNS graduates to effectively apply the latest innovations and “omics” tools to their maximum effect, since no matter how fancy the analytical platform, solid interpretations still require foundational knowledge of pathways and systems.” #askalumni#alumni#dns50#facesofdns#nutrional#science#dnsuiuc

Yesterday we had the most pleasent alumni dinner in London. A big thank you to Patrik Ström and Christian Andersson for their speeches! And thank you to our scholar Amanda Hultman that helped the School to arrange the event.
#tbt to the time the @groplay team created their games to entertain and inspire children (and adults) to learn more about health, wellbeing and sustainability from their SUP46 desks. Sometimes Alfons was there too.
