After working 66 hrs this week..time to relax and finally get to enjoy the patio furniture I put together last weekend.

For explosive leg power and absorbing force on the outside leg, this drill results in lower body strength and speed. The Russian Box provides a unique workout which encompasses the athlete’s overall balance, speed, agility and core strength that is applicable to almost all sports.
Although The Russian Box was originally designed and utilized in hockey training centers for being a specific skating range of motion workout. Over the years all sports that require single leg explosive power either on the field, on the courts, or on the field, court, or ice, have realized the benefits the workout brings to their specific athletic training and overall physical workouts. The Russian Box has been utilized by thousands of strength and conditioning coaches world-wide for youth sports training centers, high school prep programs and even professional national leagues such as the NHL, NFL, NBA, NCAA programs, and Olympic Training Centers.

I love this drill for so many reasons. One of the main reasons is the combination of planes of motion and the variable of reaction. As you see it took a while for me to find my groove!
I really have been struggling regaining my athleticism since I moved states, had a beautiful baby girl, and went through a seperation. Am I where I want to be athleticly? • No! • Am I where I want to be astechicly? • No! • Am I progressing with my movements? • YES! • Am I getting stronger everyday? • YES! • Perfection is not linear but progression is! •
