By the power I just decided I had (😂) I declare November 3rd International Bissap (or Sorrel if you are jaimaican) day. Bissap is made from Guinean sorrel.
It is good against hypertension, anemia, PMS and is also an anti inflammatory.
I bring 1 litre of water to a boil. I then add 100g of dried sorrel leaves, 3tbsp of previously cut in half mint 🍃. And let it infuse for 20 minutes, before removing the leaves. I let it cool and add 2 tablespoons of water of orange flowers. I let it cool, add blended pineapples or just pineapple 🍍 juice if I don't have any fruit. Only then do I add sugar to taste. My cousin likes to put vanilla and cinnamon (she's from Guadeloupe). What do you add in your Bissap ?
For a Friday night, put it in the freezer for a bit and serve it with vodka . Cheeers
*pour plus d'enjaillement, à déguster avec un jeune plat d'alloco sur le côté*
