sending lots of up north love out this week to my seasonal stockists🌲💕 that feeling when you’re swimming in a warm lake and the sun is on your face and you’re as happy as a cute little otter is so close i can almost taste it 🤗 #summerfeelings
I love all the cool/novel things we come across when we venture off of the beaten path, like this combination pedestrian/bicycle and vehicle bridge over the #ElwhaRiver near #PortAngeles , WA. Maybe I am just being a little nerdy, but I loved how it jetted out of the canyon wall.

Ask host Natacha how she ended up in Caraíva and she'll tell you a story about her dream of growing old by the sea, eating fried shrimp, and drinking something cold within earshot of waves lapping off shore. When she first visited Caraíva, Brazil–– a remote fishing village on the southern end of Brazil's Bahian coastline–– she saw that dream in real life. And in the decade since, she bought land, built her home, and then became a host.
Stay with her and she'll recommend the best places to find those dreamy fried shrimp, and maybe some traditional Bahian cuisine like moqueca, fish stew served in a clay pot. For that, head to Boteco do Para where the owner has his own fishing boat (so you know that moqueca is fresh!) and boasts a renowned spot to watch sunset.

Trade 97 | Rolled off my sofa to catch the sunrise this morning. Part of which was spent digging around the sand after we almost lost the car key, which would have been bad... like phones and flat keys are in the car bad.

WE'VE GOT TO DO SOMETHING
My favorite fictional character Aldous Snow sang it best in his fictional band Infant Sorrow "Lately mother Earth is feeling unsatisfied"
People went crazy for like a week when they were building an infrastructure around this place and putting a few safety measures in place and an actual paved path. But look at all the national parks and the amount of paved trails and infrastructure in place for everyone to enjoy the beauty. If people want to do something to preserve the unspoiled beauty of these places there's a few things you can do:
-see trash, pick it up (leave no trace)
- visiting ruins or petroglyphs (don't touch, sit/stand on or go inside)
- see something wrong, day something/report it
I have always loved how the light touches this valley, how the sun turns the trees silver in the dawn and tawny in the evening, how the water takes on a lavender cast at seven but turns an icy aqua at noon, how the moss goes from emerald to silver sage, even the mud changes color here... Remember to stop and watch the light sometimes, you'll be shocked at the magic show happening right in front of you.....
