Happy Saturday!!! If you watch my stories you will see we are still a LONG way from our Bitty House looking anything this. 😆 But we ARE making progress and that feels good. Cannot wait to pull all of this stuff out of storage and begin my favorite part - the decorating!
On another note, think I have enough plants?? Yeah, me either.🌿

My Golden Girl, my Rosie Mills. These days, when I think of you, I think of Sunshine. Light pours out of you and fills any darkness of the moment. Yes, sometimes that darkness is of your own making, you and your three year old self. You're learning hard lessons like kindness and sharing, and even though that often leads to screams and tears, the next moment that brilliant golden light is just pouring out of you, filling every dark corner. Your contagious laughter, talks with your babies, obsession with the phrase "I love you..." all these things and many more make up your light these days. Right now, you say your favorite color is yellow and you're obsessed with wearing this dress all day every day so you can twirl to music. You'd dance and twirl for hours, wanting me by your side, hand in hand and teaching you new moves. Watching you twirl, this dress rounding out beside you, your arms above your head, your blonde hair whipping in the wind, your eyes squeezed tight and your smile wide is one of the purest forms of this life's joy I've witnessed. I'm writing these memories in my heart and here so they stay close. So that even after this season has passed and you've grown and started a life of your own somewhere, this shining light of yours, my golden golden girl, will still fill and saturate my days. May your light never dull, may it only brighten with every coming year, and may you shine it out on every lucky soul you encounter along the way. #rosiemills#thebuffalostonecottage
Not a shabby way to spend a Saturday morning! Took care of the garden, cleaned up the house, and even braved the grocery store early this AM!
So now I’m rewarding myself with a bowl of 🍒 and flipping through @countrygardensmagazine. I just might need someone to come tell me that I do NOT need to make a succulent tower (but it looks SO cool!). 😂
Happy official kickoff to summer, indeed!
Who else is ready for popsicles, good food, and all the yummy drinks this weekend? 🥥🌴🌞🌮🍕🍿🍦🥧🏖This DIY watercolor popsicle garland is the perfect addition to your summer festivities. Find my tutorial over on the @consumercrafts blog. #ad
Little known fact: I have over a dozens portraits of myself. It’s a strange thing to have in this digital world. My mom (@gbkeogh) didn’t have many willing subjects to paint (I certainly wasn’t one), but that didn’t stop her. When friends came over to my parent’s house, they’d comment that it was funny to have so many of my portraits on our walls and wasn’t it “weird” looking at myself all the time? I resisted hanging one of my portraits in my own home for a while, but now I’ve learned to detach from the girl in the painting. I often wonder where they’ll end up in a hundred years. Will they be in a family members’ home, will a stranger find one at a flea market, or will they be tossed away? Very deep thoughts for a holiday weekend!
Happy Saturday! Is everyone looking forward to their long weekend? We're spending the day just pottering around the house before going out for tea tonight, and after such a busy couple of weeks I'm SO looking forward to not doing a lot! I'm trying to get the house back in order though, I gave the top of the bar a little switch around yesterday - adding in this picture of John along with his favourite, ferns, in my new @aliceinscandilandshop pots 💕 you best believe I got my ass down to Aldi so quickly when I saw these Diptyque dupes! I managed to snag some peonies there too yesterday, finally!
