The progress of my lilac girl. The inspiration for her started with some purple paint and an image of coral reefs in mind. I think she's pretty spectacular. She's the beginning of a series, more acrylic faces to come. Beautiful little 8x10. Message me if you'd like to give her a home 💜
Shirin Neshat, is one of my favorite artists of all time (and one of my fashion icons too). She’s an Iranian visual artist who’s mediums are film, video and photography. I like that her artwork focuses on the contrasts between her Islamic culture and the West. She also includes contrasts between femininity and masculinity, old and new, private life and public life in her work. And of course, I love that she appreciates “black and white” photography and noir- style films! I’m obsessed with Shirin and I’ve seen both her art exhibits in SF and Washington DC. You guys need to check out her work. She’s incredibly impactful, her work is powerful and she truly gives light to social/ political issues that we desperately need to address today. #artist#icon#womanartist#bold#beautiful#fearless

It’s an honor to partner with iconic sculpture artist @carolefeuerman for her annual foundation show at @manacontemporary
In celebration of #InternationalSculptureDay , we bring attention to the existence of familiar and foreign objects and its relation to everyday life. “Senses and Perception" is a whimsical and immersive body of work that explores the dynamics of combining two and three-dimensional structures, alternative use of materials and hybrid approaches to mixing, layering and re-contextualizing everyday materials and environment building.
Join us on April 29th to see the works of 10 phenomenal artists.
