#Waco Siege: February 28 - April 19, 1993. Suspected of stockpiling illegal weapons, David Koresh and his ranch in #Texas were sieged by the ATF.
The initial incident left 4 government agents dead and 6 “branch davidians.” Upon the failure, the siege lasting 51 days was initiated by the #FBI who eventually used tear gas and a controversial fire started.
The origins of which are still engulfed in controversy, 86 people total would die. Inconsistencies such as agent Roland Ballestros claiming the #ATF fired first and then retracted his statement, the door with bullets holes to prove who shot first was evidence that went missing, government claimed no #incendiary devices were used which turned out to be a #lie .
#RubyRidge happened less than 12 months before this, an 11 day siege in Idaho when Randy Weaver and his family resisted the #UnitedStates Marshals Service and the FBI.
Stemming from a couple of his #weapons being a quarter of an inch out of regulation (which the ATF informer told him where to cut, indicating #entrapment ), charging him with illegal firearms and given a court date. Served an indictment for failure to appear.
#DOJ documents show they installed cameras in the trees for constant surveillance, special ops were discovered by Weaver’s 14 year old son and their #dog . An agent shot the dog who was running at them, Weavers son shot at the agent and then all hell broke loose.
Weaver’s wife would be killed by a #sniper fire from the FBI while holding a child. Randy would be acquitted on almost all charges.
As #WilliamCooper says sarcastically, give us your guns, we would never become tyrannical, let us protect you.

Dr. Judith Mann, leading scholar on Artemisia Gentileschi and Curator of European Art to 1800 century at the Saint Louis Art Museum, Skyped into Dr. Heidi Hornik’s advanced art history course on Artemisia last week.
Dr. Mann talked about her experiences with the the major Gentileschi exhibitions worldwide in the past twenty years. Ahead of time, Dr. Mann sent a PowerPoint presentation so students could follow-along with her talk and ask questions. The students, who spent the semester studying and researching Gentileschi, were both excited but also highly engaged.
Student feedback was extremely positive and many said the ‘visit’ was one of the highlights of the semester.
Thank you Dr. Mann!!
