The big picture is becoming more clear later into my years exploring the wilderness and it’s public places...These parks, forests, wildernesses, preserves, etc had a hell of an impactful role in molding me through some confusing years chasing life. Like C.C. Filson found himself at the brink of the Klondike gold rush in 1897 Seattle Washington. While supplying hard working fortune seeking men and women headed North with the correct gear and a company policy that in short meant “Some tough shit”. I too sat in Seattle Washington waiting to head North to the gold rush of my era..”The Oil Sands, Alberta” some 5 years ago now with a specialized heavy construction corp.. Chasing adventure, career and fortune I found myself flying into the Tar Sands near the Yukon Border building and planning some of the largest systems and equipment in the world. I never really did get excited about what our projects supported, but I sure as hell was proud of what we built and the hardworking men and women we built it with from all over the world. I Met some amazing people and many I still call great friends that worked their ass off. There were some long days but no matter where I was, at the end of the day I had a quiet place picked out, most of the time public. Ive answered a lot of questions and made many decisions in a place like this or nights in the backcountry...and it’s these places I choose support today as they have supported me and I’d like them to support the next... @filson1897 also supports these places and many great conservation groups, and it’s these companies that support the “big picture” I chose to side with...#firstlitehunting#vortexoptics#filson1897#mathewsinc#badlandspacks#primoshunting#keepitpublic#publiclands#publiclandowner#ramarchery#yeticoolers#backcountryhuntersandanglers .
This morning all the hard yards I’ve been doing paid off. After an early start I spotted a large deer silhouette in the distance, after a very long and slow stalk I drew within range and let a well placed shot fly. 11 pts all up.
