Welcome to Yavin 4, er I mean Tikal, the center of the Mayan Civilization. This a place I've been looking forward to seeing for a long time, and it totally lived up to expectations. One thing I was pleasantly surprised about was the quality and quantity of wildlife we ran into on our tour. Howler monkeys leaped between trees with babies on their backs and sounded off among the jungle, parrots plied the skies in pairs, searching for perches, an agouti perched on his hind legs to eat some fruit with his fprepaws. Best of all though was the large Keel Toucan we spotted immediately upon the entering the park. What luck! It definitely pays to be the first people into the reserve before all the critters find quieter places to eat once the tourists come by. I took plenty of pictures so stay tuned to see more of this fantastic UNESCO site.
Today I was invited on a press trip to Puerto Rico that included seeing the only and only Luis Fonsi (aka Mr. Despacito) on the itinerary. Sadly, I have to decline. But I was in San Juan earlier this year, and while there ventured down to La Perla, the slums where the video was shot. Later that night I was at a bar and found out that Luis was literally on the other side of the wall filming a tourism ad. (My much hotter friend refused to use her feminine wiles to get us through the door.) I’m not really sure what the point of these stories are – other than perhaps to say Despacito is a great song and I will argue this to the grave. I mean, have you translated those lyrics? Extra slowly, indeed 🔥
