I was so exited to come across to a garden treasure this weekend. A statue of one of my favorite Goddesses Kwan Yin/Tara!! ✨
This is the compassionate Goddess. I actually have a carved pendent of her. ✨
For centuries Eastern cultures have worshipped Kwan Yin as the Compassionate Saviouress of the East. Likened to the great stature of the Virgin Mary in the West, she is the Goddess of Compassion, a motherly figure thought to bestow children on the truly faithful, and to be there for anyone in need of love and sympathy.
All those who needlessly suffer are Kwan Yin's children. She is all-loving, and the perfect embodiment of beauty, grace and enduring compassion.
She is known as the "mother of liberation", and represents the virtues of success in work and achievements.
Tara is a meditation deity whose practice is used by practitioners of the Tibetan branch of Vajrayana Buddhism to develop certain inner qualities and understand outer, inner and secret teachings about compassion and emptiness. Tara may more properly be understood as different aspects of the same quality, as bodhisattvas are often considered metaphors for Buddhist virtues.
The main Tārā mantra is the same for Buddhists and Hindus alike: oṃ tāre tuttāre ture svāhā. It is pronounced by Tibetans and Buddhists who follow the Tibetan traditions as oṃ tāre tu tāre ture soha. The literal translation would be “Oṃ O Tārā, I pray O Tārā, O Swift One, So Be It!.” Happy Monday..Namaste! 🙏🏻 ✨💖w

~ IN LOVING MEMORY OF TARA: OUR LIGHT, OUR SHINING STAR ~
"Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pour through and shine down on us to let us know they are happy." Tara came to us 2 years ago with both hind legs and her tail severed. While the history behind her injuries were a mystery to us, what we did know within seconds of having laid eyes on this girl was that she was one in a million. Despite the fact that her wounds never entirely healed and newer ones would constantly develop, she never seemed to think twice about hoisting herself on her two remaining legs and run, hop, and bounce about the Centre, greeting visitors and demanding chin rubs wherever she went. To us, she was the epitome of 'survivor'. Tara was our light; our brightest star -- and she will continue to shine over the ResQ Centre and live on in our hearts. Her infectious cheer and incredible power of will are more than just memories, for she is (and has in many ways always been) a part of ResQ. And so, although our hearts ache from the shock of this tremendous loss, we seek comfort in the knowledge that Tara's happy, tenacious spirit will live on in the work we do. If you have a 'Tara story' -- whether it was a moment, a story, a picture, or even an impression -- please share it with us in the comments' section below.
Thank you, Tara, for teaching us what it truly means to never give up. Thank you for your boundless affection, and for being the brightest star in our lives.
Rest in eternal peace, our beautiful, feisty girl. .
