Yesterday I posted about graffiti vandalism in #ZionNationalPark by #suspencefitness (at least one additional, unknown vandal also left graffiti in the same area). The outdoors community has made it a rough 24hrs for him. And he deserves it. However, there seems to be genuine remorse and one huge mistake is not the only thing that defines a person. It’s simply 1 data point and those with more data points can decide what it means to them. Some have said they want to ruin him or even worse - not my objective. I want this lesson to spread - in nature, you take nothing but memories or photographs and you leave nothing but footprints. Our national parks are woefully underfunded. Parks should not have to spend time and money to clean up vandalism from adults who should know better. But you also don’t tell someone who really screwed up, but it wasn’t fatal, ‘to go die in a ditch’.
Thanks @murican_j for putting this asshole on blast! It’s people like this fucking clown that get parks and monuments closed for the rest of us. Go to hell @suspencefitness #Repost @murican_j with @get_repost
@suspencefitness thought it was okay to deface our beautiful Zion National Park. This is why we can’t have nice things. #suspencefitness
