As a highly intuitive and fairly emotionally driven person, I struggled for almost 20 years(I’m 23 now) with accepting that part of me. I fought so hard to be a rational, logical person - suppressing all natural instinct because I thought it was “childish” or a sign of weakness. Smart people makes decisions based on hard fact, not their own feelings, right?
Woman, was I wrong.
Always listen to that feeling in your gut telling you if something feels right or if it doesn’t. Now this is important: you don’t HAVE to listen to it, but you should ALWAYS take it into consideration. If there is something inside you, if so only a whisper, trying to tell you something - please, listen. You’re on your own side, and sometimes your subconscious picks up on things that bright, logical brain of yours hasn’t. 🧠
Listen to yourself, practice harmony between mind and feelings, never force yourself into something your whole body says is wrong.
Life is full circle. 23 years ago he was my first coach, 5 years ago he became my friend, 28 years ago he became my FATHER and 4 years ago I became his "role model" when I taught him the importance of stability training. It saddens me to see that the lack of BALANCE is the leading cause for falls reported anually by 1/3 of people over the age of 65. The only thing worst then lack of physical balance, is the lack of WORK-LIFE BALANCE. I am so blessed to say I may not have had the newest cleats, or the most expensive softball glove, heck sometimes we would get our bat's from a garage sale. However, what I can say is "I had two parents who love me unconditionally and showed their love thru their words of encouragement, well deserved disciplinary actions, and quality time that MONEY CANT BUY." Moral of the story: (STAY)ing fit is not just about the physical!

One of the key principles that social media producers and marketers target is "FOMO" or the fear of missing out. The reason is because if users are fearful of missing out on cool content or important news or the current trend or a lit event, then they will begin to fall behind and thus drop on the social ladder. We must remind ourselves that we lived for tens of thousands of years without social media and that we will be just fine if we don't use it for a day or so. Again, this is not about avoiding social media because there are so many amazing aspects of digital media out there that allows us as normal people to do that was unthinkable a century earlier. However, the point of this post is a firm reminder to never allow the media to control you. When you spontaneously decide to get a tattoo within that hour. So thankful Dennis was able to do such a great job on these in a weird spot so fast. My love is traveling and science, the equilibrium symbol in chemical reactions helps remind me that there is always another option. Being a wanderlust, I will be able to travel for work within the next few years with my nugget whom shares the same passion I have. Smoothies and spring water for #thewaterstanding keep me full for half the day! One solid meal in the afternoon and fruit/nuts for snack. Day 3 of going raw and I’m not hungry at all! I just wanna taste cook foods lol. Adding nuts to my smoothies eliminates having to add boxed nut milks (read your label), or harmful powdery protein powders. If I can’t pronounce an ingredient or identify the source I don’t consume it...

❤️ Sometimes, especially in the darker months, the most loving thing we can do for ourselves is to remove ourselves from our normal setting and routine and go someplace else.
If you've never been to New Mexico, I highly recommend you put it on your list. Whenever I visit, I'm creatively inspired and somehow I bust out my best work + ideas. (Yes, I'm a workaholic and go on "work vacations".) I love waking up to the birds in Taos, and so far the crystal hunting this year has been killer! (Let me know if you'd like me to share my favorite crystal spots.)
I'm a big believer that we creatives need to change up our scenery + the air we breathe every now and then to keep us at our healthiest, most inspired and productive. So far, I've pretty much wrapped up everything for my soon-to-launch Instagram photo membership. I'm always amazed by how much I get done on work vacations!
Where do you go to get aligned, refreshed and inspired? Do you take your work with you, or totally detach?
They’re all things we, me especially, do that fuck things up. It messes with our mental health, emotional balance and overall equilibrium.

A few of you have asked how I discipline my children. I have to admit to it being a mix of the above and screaming like a crazed banshee while threatening them with mild death 🤦🏻♀️😫🤣. Parenting isn’t easy and I try to keep a balance. There is a LOT of love in this house and I always approach things with loving intentions BUT the problem with my kids (and most others) is the first 8 times you say something nicely, in a nice voice with a nice face-they don’t seem to hear, then when you scream and swear in a rage they look at you like ‘why are you screaming at me?!’ ‘BUT I JUST ASKED YOU NICELY 8 times and you didn’t even look at me’ is the scenario I spend half my life in 🙄🤦🏻♀️😂 so whilst I try to be a lovely earth mamma-the type you see singing nursery rhymes on mountain tops living in WV camper vans, my kids only seem to respond to the psycho in me so I just gotta try keep the balance (and my sanity) 🤷🏻♀️ id say as long as you’re not battering them or locking them in cupboards under the stairs and they are getting at least 3 hugs a day, you’ll be just fine 💛 Parenting is not easy and there is not a set way to do it and I really can’t tell you how to discipline your kids but I tend to do what keeps me happiest as if im not happy no one else is so be a bit selfish and put yourself first and do what makes you comfortable (and what is legal 😆)

Nothing embodies the notion of BALANCE more than Mother Nature herself. From the sun kissed dunes of New England to the snow capped mountains of Colorado, we hope everyone got a chance to enjoy a piece of the outdoors today.
On April 22, 2017, I decided to do yoga every day for a year. Today, I can officially say that I did it!
Some days it was literally a relaxing 5 minute session before bed, others it was a sweaty hour of practice. Most days, it was somewhere in between.
I did yoga in my living room, my bedroom, in 7 different hotel rooms, at my mother-in-law’s house, in a cabin, at a beach house, and in a couple public classes. I practiced inside and outside, sometimes in a nice quiet environment, and sometimes with a cat trying to climb me.
I practiced on the really good days and the really bad ones.
There were days I dreaded rolling out my mat and days I couldn’t wait to practice. Days where I could balance and days where it felt like all I did was fall.
It was a beautiful, awesome journey that helped me appreciate my body and proved I could do more than I ever thought I could.
I’m looking forward to building my practice even more over the next year and beyond. 🧘🏼♀️ (PS - check out one of my yoga buddies in the bottom right corner)
I’m happiest while surrounded by nature in the middle of the bustling city. Even in the concrete jungle, we should each do our part to take care of the earth so that we may literally continue to smell the flowers. Like plants, we need fresh air, sunlight, plenty of water and protection from pollution/pests. Reuse items, recycle, upcycle—be creative! Trash doesn’t belong here. Don’t be wasteful and walk the walk (it’s better for your health, too!). Let’s not poison our gardens or our bodies.
