It's been two weeks since my first tray of Invisalign braces. Tray #2 is officially on! 😁I can definitely feel the difference in fit. Week 1 of Invisalign was an adjustment. My jaw ached and my teeth became individually sensitive. I felt as though chewing food would make my teeth fall out. Into the second week of my first tray the sensitivity subsided and my aligners felt almost nonexistent. As I am now wearing tray 2, I can feel the 'snug-ness' mostly on my bottom teeth, where there's the most overcrowding. I did just notice I'm missing four attachment ridges from the underside of my upper front teeth. Whoops! Gotta call my orthodontist. #invisalign#selfcare
I almost bought this at the Cherry Blossom Fest. So cute! I need more cupcake goodness in my life. I do.
Anyhoos, today I had to make myself rest which I'm not always good at. I had plans to de-clutter a lot, cean and get some writing done. But my feet and hands were still tender and in pain. I did do a little de-cluttering and put the dishes away. But the dishes dishes didn't get washed, recycling didn't get taken out, he bathroom didn't get cleaned and no writing happened. Ah well, it'll get done when it gets done. My OCD doesn't like that at all but I don't care. .
I did manage to get into the shower and go out. It was painful but I was getting irritated by staying in the house. Oh! I also did a bit of crafting. More brownie points for me! Self care and all. Go me.
Power morning ... super green smoothie as part of my @foodfitbody 21 day plan (day 5 and feeling alive), Restore mineral drink which I can honestly say is one of the best supplements I’ve taken yet (and those that know me know I’ve tried a lot) @restore4life and almonds soaking for homemade milk (so much tastier than bought). All practice in prep for the retreat I’m co-hosting next month: check out @fivestarhippy ... bringing more of what I love into my work... Now onto today’s tasks ...here’s to an empowered-Friday xx
Not only can the ocean be a wonderful place to reconnect with yourself, but it carries a number of health benefits 🌊💙 One major benefit is that ocean water can strengthen the immune system. The number of red blood cells increases between five to 20 percent after a swim or bath in the sea.
Come and stay at Beach Health Retreat and enjoy all that the Ocean has to offer.
It’s vital that you take the time you need to look after yourself.
When you’re busy taking care of everybody else, it’s easy to forget your own needs.
When you have a day off, give yourself permission to relax, have fun and unwind.
What are you getting up to on your days off?
Love, Ally xx @the_nurse_coach
There’s nothing like a holiday to help you get your thoughts together - kicking off my morning on the balcony making blog plans and writing a review of @gabbybernstein‘s #theuniversehasyourback . It’s amazing what down time (and sunshine) can do for your creativity ⚡️
Every time I look at the ocean the first thought my mind is directed to is the ebb + flow of the waves. It is natures constant reminder to me that just like the waves, our life is a constant state of both ebb + flow .
Meaning what goes up must come down, and vice versa. Every down will always have an up .
The ocean never fears this process, it just is .
And so with life, it just is. After the struggle comes a break and you rise again. Then you crash. Then you rise. That's how we grow, evolve, learn, move forward and expand. So if you're going through something hard right now, embrace it for it is leading you to the next level of your evolution. ✨🙏🏼 #trust#letgo

Recharge your batteries ✨
Do you ever just stop, I mean actually stop. I am always SO busy, mentally & physically! I live a fast paced life but far out the past few months it’s taught me that everyone NEEDS time to just stop & recharge!
A few months ago I realised that I was suffering Depression, something that had crept up on me (again) over time. I was exhausted, mentally & physically. I had lost my get up and go. I had lost my appetite. I wasn’t interested in my usual activities, my fitness & socialising. All I wanted to do was stay home, feeling anxious every time I left the house. I experienced these symptoms for weeks on end which is how I finally realised something was wrong.
At the time I wasn’t really able to fully take time out (or I wasn’t prepared to), I did decrease my workload slightly, however I knew if I made it to holidays (being a teacher) I could really give myself the time I needed. And boy has this two weeks been exactly what I’ve needed! I’ve had a real opportunity to practice some well needed self-care. Engaging in plenty of me-time, getting plenty of sleep & changing up my routine. I’ve also been able to assess what I can do from here to ensure I am able to stay in a more positive headspace & not end up back where I was.
I’m very grateful that I was able to have this time out. And there will be things that I’m going to continue to do each day to ensure I’m taking care of myself, small tweaks in my routine that both my body & mind need.
I’ve always said it but YOU need to be your Number 1. YOU need to be your top priority. There is no shame in that, it’s healthy & it’s necessary. I am going to practice what I preach, starting now (or two weeks ago!)!
Tomorrow’s post will explain how I am going to continue putting myself first, putting my mental health first, so keep posted if interested 💙
Happy weekend everyone 😊

Hey there 👋 Did you get your free guide to inner calm? I created it for you 🤲🏼 .
Because I’m passionate about this stuff. Because I use to be a stress head. Spent my entire time in my head, thinking, planning, doing, analysing. And I disconnected from my body in the process. It made me sick.... .
And I see sooooo many people in this same place of existence and it makes me sad 😢 .
We were never meant to live this way. Life wasn’t meant to feel so full of obligation, stress, worry. .
Over the past 4 years I’ve studied, learnt and tested on myself and my hubby 😝 a bunch of things to see what helps the body and mind. And
we’ve experienced some massive shifts in wellbeing. I now gratefully and humbly share with my clients, with fabulous results 💖
You see there are things we can do to settle our nervous system, to find our equilibrium and I’ve popped a bunch of these in my free guide. For you to bring more of that sense of centredness, calm and lightness into your life, no matter what comes your way 💗
Get it in my bio 👆🏼👆🏼 x
I come across many women looking for happiness from an external place, object, status or person. This is an unreliable source of happiness. Yes, these concepts can bring “temporary” happiness. But what is truly fulfilling and permanent is feeling whole. •
It is our responsibility to explore, to be curious, to take action and actually engage in what makes us happy, what brings us peace, what makes us feel good and alive. •
So instead of looking for happiness outside ourselves from a person, place or thing, realize it’s not out there. It’s within us. Happiness is not a destination. Happiness should not depend on someone else’s feelings towards us. It’s a “personal” state of mind that we have to constantly work on every single day. Some days will be good. Some days will be bad. •
Learn to create your own source of built-in happiness. Walk around as a whole, happy person, needing nothing from an external source. Then come from this place of wholeness, of self-reliance, of independence, and love others. Not because you want them to love you back, not because you want to be needed, but because loving them is an amazing thing to do.
Self- Care! It seems to be the hot topic this week! (or the Universe is sending me some hints) Do you practice it? Even a little each day?
For me, today, it’s a peaceful 7 minute stroll to pick up my boy from Kinder.
Oh sunshine, blue sky and fresh air, how I’ve missed you! ☀️ .
It’s amazing how just a few minutes outdoors breathing in fresh air can completely renew a day! It feels like forever since we could do this! #hellospring
What’s your favourite way to steal a moment of self-care??
I’m going to enjoy these final few minutes, because I know the “walk” home will be more of a “chase” 😆
