HAVE YOU MAKE UP YOUR MISSED FASTS?
Sometimes we are unable to fast all days during the month of Ramadaan due to various reasons, such as ill health, travel or other extenuating circumstances. Allaah is Most Merciful, and allows us the provision to make up the missed fast outside Ramadaan.
Making up missed days of Ramadaan is an obligation that need not be fulfilled immediately because the time for fulfilling is very wide and one may perform it at any time. It has been authentically reported that 'Aishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) would make up her missed days during the month of Sha'baan.
Allaah says: "Ramadaan is the month during which the Qur'aan was revealed, providing guidance for the people, the direction and the clear criterion; so whoever among you witness this month must fast for the whole month; and whoever is ill or traveling may substitute the same number in other days; Allaah wishes for you convenience, not hardship, that you may fulfill your obligations, and to glorify Allaah greatness for guiding you, and to express your appreciation." [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185]
It may be tempting in some cases to just ignore the missed fast or simply feed a poor person to make up. While feeding a poor person is an excellent act of righteousness whether in Ramadaan or otherwise, Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) recommends making up the missed fast by fasting on another day. Allaah says: "fasting is better for you". [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:184]
We must remember, that we are not doing Allaah a favour by observing the Ramadaan fasts. Instead, the practices of our religion, including fasting during Ramadaan, are a great gift for our souls.
Let us glorify Allaah for guiding us, and express our appreciation!
Today Moustaqbel Amsterdam officially opened. Because it will be one of the locations of the Iftar-encounters, Hoda from @hoda_magazine and I went to take a look. As soon as I came in my heart made a little jump. This place is perfect for an intimate iftar. Al the little Moroccan details made me smile. But Moustaqbel Amsterdam is more than a Moroccan living room. It’s also supporting a charity. From their profits they support student housing for girls in Marrakech. Berber girls live their with a “housemother” and are helped to study and develop theirselves. So it’s a beautiful place with a beautiful story. #IftarEncounter#BeautifulinsideAndOut#IftarAnnelies#Charity#Ramadan#Amsterdam#MoustaqbelAmsterdam#Iftar

Be so careful what you post online. The evil eye can kill. It’s not a joke! Be careful of showcasing your blessed life to those less fortunate that you. Remember blessings come in many forms and not only in the worldly gain. #islamicquotes#islamicquote#muslim#ramadan
