4 of my recent favorite exercises :
Cable fire hydrants
Glute side kicks
Cable lat pulldowns (using TRS Swinger attach.)
Banded Box squats
For box squats I used a 30lb long resistance band from thexbands and tied it to a 45lb dumbbell on the ground 😄
Decided to try out more banded exercises and it’s definitely harder ! Try it for yourself👌🏽
PLEASE SHARE MY STORY to make people aware of the things that happen. I’m trying to get in with some studies and be entered in to get a sport prosthetic
A lot of you haven’t heard the story bc I wasn’t ready. I had an accident and broke my leg and ankle several years ago. A doctor put an ankle replacement in me bc I kept having issues. They messed me up bad and I got a MRSA infection during surgery. After my foot and ankle turned purple, blistered and black. My doctor who I trusted with everything kept telling me I was fine and it would heal. They cut out the dead tissue to the bone. My infected hardware was left in. I spent months in the hospital trying to heal on IV antibiotics and a wound vac. Seven months later my NEW DOCTORS took my ankle replacement out and I had such a bad bone infection they had no other option then to amputate below the knee. I ve spent the last 3 years in and out of the hospital fighting the infection and fighting for my life. I ve had 40 surgeries on my leg and have had to go in multiple times to cut off more bone. They are still trying to save me from going above the knee. I have been through every emotion and I went to a really dark place for awhile. I was away from my kids, husband, family & friends in Dallas. Finally I made a decision and was getting back on my feet. I could lay around and be miserable or start living my life. I’m doing things now I never thought I would be able to do again. I do have to learn to do things a little different now. I have a completely different perspective on the world and life. I’m working hard to get back to normal. I’m really proud of how far I have come. That doctor has no idea what he took away from me or how much he changed my life. I lost my real estate company, my leg 😂 and 3 years of misery which I will never get back. I I trusted him. Now I have to have care for the rest of my life along with paying for new prosthetics and millions of dollars in medical bills. It’s not just put your leg on and go. Even my family Doesn’t see how difficult some tasks are. I ve fallen 100 times but I still get up. I have a positive attitude now and I have excepted it. @_annapaquin #fireforgedbarbell

Adidas Parlay Adizero primeknit boost
AWARDED: Golden Shoehorn
FUNCTION: with the buzz of the ultra boost slowing a bit, there is a new divide. Dad shoe vs tech runner. Adidas has a variety of Parlay editions recently and this one was a solid option for tech runner. The traditional ultra boost seems to be the go to for casual runner, this one can perform as an actual runner. Much lighter and with the less padded body it’s an easy slip on and slip off. The boost sole keeps the rose smooth and future adizero options are a great summer option. Getting on and off the prosthetic is easier than I expected giving the unibody construction. A shoe horn isn’t a bad idea to make it easier since it lacks a rigid structure. Best pet is that I didn’t get any distortion in the toe area from my prosthetic, and that’s not an easy accomplishment for such a thin shoe.
STYLE: Parlay Blue is a great color as we move into spring. Sits nicely on top of lighter colored pants or shorts. It is more of a runner aesthetic, which certainly isn’t everybody’s style, but if it is.. here’s a great option. Not to mention your helping find a use for ocean plastics. Adidas sold over 1 million shoes last year made of this material, so style and social benefit is a win win. #brooklynlife#ossurprosthetics#amputeelife#amputeestyle#amputeeproblems#shoes#parlay#adidasadizero#shoesoftheday#Ossurproflex#prostheticmodel#kicksoftheday#nike#classickicks#kicksonfire#shoereview#hypebeast#adidas#dailykicks#prostheticleg#bkamputee#amputeesupport#sneakers#prosthetics#prostheticsinmotion#teampim
Sorry (should I be sorry?) I haven’t been so insta-regular lately. The anniversary of my accident is coming up. Anyone in my club knows stuff gets kinda weird around anniversary time no matter the event. Yea this is my leg. I love my leg. Eternal thanks to the crew at @prostheticsinmotion . You may have seen it before in a video or shot hanging out of a helicopter. Which we hope to do again real soon. Dig that bokeh 🤘🤓 📷 #sonya9#prostheticleg#prostheticsinmotion#acciversary#myaddidas#ultraboost#surgicalsteel#carbonfiber
My current warmup routine:
Mountain climbers 2x 10
Pushups 2x 10
Forward leg kicks 2x 10
Lateral leg swings 2x 10
Leg sliders 2x 10
I used my shroom tumbler attachment from TRS for floor exercises and thexbands resistance bands for sliders
This is a good routine for me to get my body ready for the workouts but not overdoing it, also keeping in mind to go at your own pace !
Friendly reminder that I’m in no way an expert at training, I’m very much learning as I go and willing to share what I know 😁☝🏽
While all my clients love the comfort that comes in the side-lying position - almost everybody says they wish they could sleep like this - its been especially helpful for my amputee client, shown here, whose lumbosacral area can get pretty “bunchy.”
Hey guys 👋🏽👋🏽sorry for the hiatus! Been changing up my workout routine and happy to be back with a new workout regimen!
Sumo box squats 95 lbs 4x 8
Seated single leg press 40 lbs 3x 10
Lat pulldowns 20 lbs 3x 10
Arm pulldowns 12.5 lbs 3x 10
Have a great Sunday everyone☺️
I work with positional supports in all my sessions - and most especially with this gal. She’s got a prosthetic lower leg, so her right leg, here, needs a lot of attention. Her upper body needs to be kept elevated for other reasons. All the supports, along with hands-on work, bring her the deepest relaxation she gets all week.
