If you’re not enjoying your weight loss journey — you despise your diet, loathe grocery shopping, dread working out, etc. — then you’re doing yourself a tremendous disservice.

Now, I’m NOT saying you have to adore every second of your weight loss journey...

At times, it’s difficult to stick to your nutrition plan or muster up the energy to slip on your gym shoes (let alone drive there!)

But(t🍑) if you’re in a constant state of unhappiness, it’ll just be a matter of time before you quit altogether.

And while some approaches to diet & exercise are more suitable for achieving sustainable fat loss results, at the end of the day, what ultimately matters is YOU.

—> YOU need to stop comparing yourself to others.

—> YOU need to stop punishing yourself every time you slip up (remember, no one’s perfect)

—> YOU need to make sure that you’re following diet & exercise protocols that you enjoy (or at least tolerate and value)

—> YOU need to know it’s okay to have “fun foods” on occasion (just remember there’s a difference between eating one piece and the entire box/package 😉)

—> YOU need to recognize that progress is progress, no matter how small

SALADS, SMOOTHIES, GRANOLA BARS, VEGETABLE CRISPS. All the epitome of healthy living, right? So many things these days are marketed as the "better" option, the option to choose for "healthy people".

Often, choosing the Salad, or Smoothie can be healthier in many regards. It's just also great to be mindful that sometimes, the Salad or the Smoothie option may have sneaky added ingredients or in this case, be MORE in calories and higher in fat.

At the end of the day, to lose weight or gain weight, your body needs a calorie deficit or surplus, so along with making the "HEALTHIER CHOICES", being mindful of calories & macros could really help too.

This post in no regards recommends 3 or even 1 Burger King 🍔as part of a healthy lifestyle. This post is highlighting that the salad may not be as "HEALTHY" as you (we all) thought or were led to believe by amazing million pound marketing budgets👌🏼👌🏼⠀

Having previously struggled with an eating disorder and battling with her weight she was feeling a little lost and unsure about where to turn.⠀

There were no calorie targets set. Just a focus on establishing positive habits and building a better relationship with food.⠀

I feel one of the most significant and most useful tools for fat loss we forget about is chewing 😂

Seriously though — how fast is food disappearing from your plate? 😆 ⠀

If it’s gone before you can even realize, this could be the reason for an insatiable hunger, bloating and digestive issues, and keeping that extra body fat on 😯 ⠀

Reason being, digestion starts in the mouth. The saliva begins breaking the food down so you can better absorb it when it reaches the stomach 💯

The more you can get used to chewing and enjoying your food, your body will begin to let you know when it’s full — it just takes some practice 😌 ⠀

And after that practice, you’ll most likely find yourself eating less and less...

Truth is, any health & fitness pursuit you undergo — losing fat, building muscle, improving your nutrition, getting better sleep, etc. — is gonna require a buttload of hard work, discipline, sacrifice, and other things that aren’t easy...⠀

But that doesn’t mean you can’t make it easier.⠀
➖⠀
Now, there are lots of ways to make your journey a bit easier, and one way you can go about it is...⠀

Creating “Rules" for yourself.⠀
➖⠀
I’m putting “rules” in parentheses because the rules you create aren’t exactly necessary or real...⠀
➖⠀
For example, you CAN drink liquid calories and eat unhealthy meals all day, and as long as you’re in a calorie deficit, you’ll lose weight. For many people, though, things like liquid calories and unhealthy eating are what caused their problems in the first place!⠀
➖⠀
The “rules” you create are nothing more than “personal oaths” and “mental boundaries” to help you stay consistent and on track towards your goals.⠀
➖⠀
The three “rules” in this graphic are three possibilities, and I highly recommend you use them.⠀

And just because you're cool, here are two bonus “rules” to try:⠀

1. Keep Tempting Foods Out of the House 🏠 - that way you don’t have to regularly fight your two desires of getting lean and aggressively shoving Oreos down your esophagus.⠀

2. The One Plate Rule 🍽 - anytime you’re at a buffet or party, have what you want, but make sure it fits comfortably on ONE plate... (and keep it to one story, too 🥞😉)⠀

After all, how can we preach a message of “best self” or “self love” when we don’t TRULY love ourselves when no one is looking and/or we aren’t waking up each and every day actively showing up as our BEST SELF...?

Today was cardio day I gave myself a rest day yesterday gotta listen to my body so I took a day off. Been working out for 13 days straight I deserved it !! Im still on track 13 days binge free !!! #bingefree

I finally broke down and tried a cauliflower mashed “potato” recipe tonight, and I have to say I was SUPER impressed with how good and easy it was! All you have to do is heat a head of cauliflower in the microwave with some butter and heavy whipping cream, and throw it in the blender with cream cheese and a little sharp cheddar. You don’t even have to squeeze the water out. 
It was SO SO good. 🤤 I actually preferred the flavor to the regular mashed potatoes I made for the kiddos. Next time I will double the recipe. I highly recommend. 👏🏻🙌🏻

At times, it’s difficult to stick to your nutrition plan or muster up the energy to slip on your gym shoes (let alone drive there!)

But(t🍑) if you’re in a constant state of unhappiness, it’ll just be a matter of time before you quit altogether.

And while some approaches to diet & exercise are more suitable for achieving sustainable fat loss results, at the end of the day, what ultimately matters is YOU.

—> YOU need to stop comparing yourself to others.

—> YOU need to stop punishing yourself every time you slip up (remember, no one’s perfect)

—> YOU need to make sure that you’re following diet & exercise protocols that you enjoy (or at least tolerate and value)

I feel one of the most significant and most useful tools for fat loss we forget about is chewing 😂
⠀
Seriously though — how fast is food disappearing from your plate? 😆 ⠀
⠀
If it’s gone before you can even realize, this could be the reason for an insatiable hunger, bloating and digestive issues, and keeping that extra body fat on 😯 ⠀
⠀
Reason being, digestion starts in the mouth. The saliva begins breaking the food down so you can better absorb it when it reaches the stomach 💯
⠀
The more you can get used to chewing and enjoying your food, your body will begin to let you know when it’s full — it just takes some practice 😌 ⠀
⠀
And after that practice, you’ll most likely find yourself eating less and less...
⠀
15 chews is just a random number, but the idea is to make sure the food is fully mashed before swallowing 👍
⠀
At the same time, this mini-challenge will make you more present and mindful of your eating...
⠀
This is also where the bonus breaths come in at the beginning — they will help relax you before eating which in turn will help reveal if you’re eating for your emotions, stress eating, etc. 🤔

Lastly, it’s always good to note that more wholesome, nutrient dense foods are going to fill you up much faster than processed “empty” calories 🙏

Currently everything is on pause. 
I have been so extremely stressed out that I think my body finally caught up to me. I can’t stop coughing, my lungs feels like they’re on fire, and my head is throbbing! I was tested for Pertussis and am waiting for lab results. 😷
That being said, I’m kind of bummed that I won’t be able to work out or do yoga, and I’m worried that my weight is going to spike. I went camping this past weekend and ate like crap, so I gained some weight, but now I’m worried it’s just gonna keep creeping up 😧

If you want to see your Abs, you need to lose body fat by being in a calorie deficit. And to actually see Abs unfortunately requires pretty low levels of body fat percentage. Not saying you can’t do it, just be aware that it’s going to take a lot of discipline and dieting to get there. 👌

Perhaps the most basic change you can make is increasing your protein intake. Protein has been shown to be the most satiating macronutrient [1]. Because of this, high-protein diets generally make it easier for you to adhere to a fat loss diet [2].

Another simple change you could make is to include more plants that are rich in fiber in your meals, as these food sources tend to be quite filling [3]. Just try consuming more fibrous vegetables or beans, you won't quickly overeat on these foods.

I feel one of the most significant and most useful tools for fat loss we forget about is chewing 😂

Seriously though — how fast is food disappearing from your plate? 😆 ⠀

If it’s gone before you can even realize, this could be the reason for an insatiable hunger, bloating and digestive issues, and keeping that extra body fat on 😯 ⠀

Reason being, digestion starts in the mouth. The saliva begins breaking the food down so you can better absorb it when it reaches the stomach 💯

The more you can get used to chewing and enjoying your food, your body will begin to let you know when it’s full — it just takes some practice 😌 ⠀

And after that practice, you’ll most likely find yourself eating less and less...

Weight loss and diet. 
Lets talk about diets.. no matter wich diet you choose, paleo, keto, low carb, weight watchers, herbalife you name it.. they are all based on creating a caloric deficit. Whether its cutting carbs, fat or protein, its the caloric deficit that does the job.(dont cut down on the protein->you need them to build muscle and keep the muscle you already have. More muscle -> burns more calories🏋). Eat healthy fats🥑, proteins🍳🍗, whole grains, fruit🍎, vegetables🥕, and find a way that works for you and your body. Whether that is high carb, low fat or high fat, low carb etc. 
Lets say your maintence is at 2500kcal, try to cut that down with 200/300kcal(make sure you take small steps when going in a caloric deficit, a too big of a caloric deficit will harm your hard earned muscle too much). When the weight on the scale doesnt drop anymore(after a few weeks or so) you cut down your calories again with a small step(+/- 200/300kcal). I hope this explains why any type of diet will work for you as long as you are in a caloric deficit.
