I LOVE baskets! Woven grass baskets especially. Part of it might be because it reminds me of South Africa. I remember when I was younger, going to the South African markets and smelling woven grass for placements, coasters, nick nacks and any other creative use you can think of. Now when I put a fresh basket in my house, I get that smell and the memories of home. ••
Another reason I love them, is because they are so darn cute and functional!
•• On the blog today, my favorite ways to use baskets at home. Check it out - link in bio for the link for these baskets specifically too. •• #basketdecor#seagrassbaskets#scandistyle#myhyggehome#beyondtheclock
Co-hosting a fun, live webinar later this morning with @ttcinnovations 👩🏼💻 We’re going to be sipping coffee and chatting all about designing in PowerPoint. We’ll be affirming how classic design principles like scale, color and space can really turn a slide from drab to fab! (No fancy software needed) If you catch us in time, tune in for FREE at 10am. 🎧
From yesterday’s Turtle Patrol lead driver Lynne Sager (who also oversees the entire patrol on the island!)... “We spent more time picking up trash this morning than investigating crawls. When we got back to the garage & we spread out all the trash (which we posted on the SC Aquarium site*), is when this guy made an appearance on an old washed up buoy.”
*SC Aquarium Citizen Science app encourages folks to track & remove plastics and other debris & record data (photos too!) from their local area. Please consider contributing... The app is free!!
The Kiawah Island Turtle Patrol is doing their part ♻️❤️🐢.
Cruising through some videos and getting them onto my YouTube channel and came across this gem! Man, that was a great day!
I loved the second phase of @80dayobsession. I really got to push myself and see just how strong I had become after phase one. I lifted heavy on this leg day. Like, used all the weight I had in the gym heavy. It was awesome!
We are so much stronger than we think! Push yourself, you’re gonna love the changes you see. Mentally and physically!

GM. Wake up feeling thankful and know that you are blessed.
When you make Jesus the Lord of your life, God puts within you an eternal well that will never run dry. You have an unlimited supply of good things inside you which should be continually bubbling out of you.
But your enemies (Satan) don't want your joy, happiness or laughter to flow freely. So they throw a stone of, say, worry in your well. And you might think, "one stone won't hurt anything." But your enemies come back and throw another stone in the well of fear, self-pity or hopelessness. If you've never dealt individually with each of these stones and gotten rid of them, your nice, free-flowing well of good things will become clogged.
Take the time today and every day to evaluate your well. Ask God to give you revelation and to help keep your well clean! Continue believing in Him and in yourself for you were made for greatness and an overabundance of blessings has already been bestowed upon you.
It was so lovely to receive this picture into my inbox, thank you Jane! I bumped into some of the Alnmouth Sea Swimmers -ASS ( 😂 love it!) last week when I went for a paddle at Foxton. One of the lovely ladies took some pictures of Cal and I having a mooch about, and very kindly found me on facebook so she could send them over
How beautiful was that day, very different from today, the grey has snuck back to remind us we’re actually in England, not some tropical país!
Shy me instantly thought urgh I cant share that my legs are on show and my hair looks crap - I have leg shame, it’s the part of me I’m most timid about putting on display, by wearing shorts or swimsuits, or in this case a shorty wetsuit. My legs are covered in scars, from hitting coral reefs and board fins, then super gluing the holes back up when it was too far to travel for stitches (disclaimer -I do not recommend you try this over real hospital care 😆)
I’m trying to get over this leg awkwardness, we’ve all got parts we’re not happy with, but the sooner we fall in love with them, the sooner we feel good about ourselves. It’s an onward and continuous journey of self love, and knowing my legs have carried me through some pretty incredible times and I’ve done so many types of amazing sports with them, makes me eternally grateful ✨
I’m so thankful for everyday they get me through and from now on expect to me in shorts a whole lot more! Well when the weather allows that is... #calabresadog
Reality check time! Don’t undervalue sleep!!!
This right here is about the only good thing I did for my body today. Yep, steak frites. Oh and a small Caesar to go with it.
And yes the pic is upside down and I’m too tired to even bother flipping it around. Again it sums up my day.
When you don’t give your body the rest and self-care it needs, your whole system is screwed. Why do you think parents of newborns instantly drop 50 IQ points? No sleep = brain fog, which = making bad decisions.
So here’s to doing better tomorrow. To making the decision NOT to fire up the computer to work at 10pm and choosing g your pillow instead. To listening to your body so you can eat better than the mega carbs with a side of protein meal plan you were on today! 🤦🏻♀️
Had a blast riding the 2018 Baja 500 race course this past weekend just for joy! The course is definitely gunna be brutal by race day. Riding my couch in Baja will always have a place in my heart ❤️ 🏁 #ridebaja#livewhatyoulove
Day #14 exploring #Keto and I’m loving the food. This is healthy fast food. I make my own ghee(clarified no salt butter), eggs, cauliflower rice, Trader Joe’s 21 Seasoning Salute and 🥑 avocado. I’m loving not being #hangry all the time. I’m loving that my skin feels smooth (at 55+ it’s a big deal🤪). I’m loving that my hair is not falling by the bunch, I’m loving clearer brain. I’m loving avocados. I’m loving avocados. I’m loving the mind/body connection rather the gremlin/body connection. I’m loving I feel a lot better with a lot less sugar and this is NOT a sacrifice. I love that MySmartShakes are keto friendly and still have the best macros out there as a form of a shake which helps when teaching indoor cycling early in the morning. Did I mentioned I’m loving avocados?
So, it almost feels I’m back in school learning from all the experts out there. I understand how this can be kinda challenge for some. You really have to commit to learn how to do this. I grew up eating like this!!! What happened? 😳
Please please make you own due diligence and educate yourself. I’m a nutrition geek and I’m fascinated to learn and know more about how body responds to this lifestyle. I’m loving the #bulletproofcoffee (I’m crazy about it!!😜). I’m loving the amazing extra support, now more than ever, my USANA supplements specially the magnesium that all these experts talk about being a very important supplement while living the keto life. Why do something different if USANA is 5-star? If someone ever shows me in the books a 6-star products I might consider to take a look. In the meantime I’m so loving how great I’m feeling. I’m loving 🥑 🥑🥑😆🤣. I’m loving eating intuitively. I used to be one of those that would have to finish everything in my plate (how many grew up like this, included parents, grandparents and so on). I’m not sure if I’m in ketosis. What I do know for sure is that for the first time in my life this feels like I’m not dieting. Actually don’t know why they call it a “diet”. Keto lifestyle or Keto thing🤣feels more natural.
DM if you want to know all the resources I’ve been checking out and learning from. I’m planning having my blood tested just to see...
Thyme-roasted pork chops. Bold flavors harmonize in this hearty dinner. Boneless pork chops, seasoned with fresh thyme and an ancho-paprika spice blend, are pan-seared and finished in the oven. They’re served with baked sweet potato fries, which pair perfectly with a tangy-sweet honey mustard sauce. A turnip slaw tossed with a citrus-herb vinaigrette adds a fresh crunch on the side! 👩🍳💯😋
