If you havenโt realised by now, Iโm slightly obsessed with cotton yarn in pastel shades. I canโt get enough. I find cotton the best yarn for Amigurumiโs as it is strong and holds its shape so well. A good tip is to downsize your crochet hook from what is recommended on the yarn when making Amiโs. This will keep your stitches tight and closed so no fibrefill can peek through ๐ Whatโs your favourite type of yarn to craft with? Any cotton recommendations for me? Iโm always on the hunt for great yarn! Hello ๐๐ป me again, Charlotte from @littlehappygorgeous with another #mollietakeover post. When I first started to crochet I was very intimidated by crocheting โin the roundโ. You too? Please try not to be! I promise once it clicks in with practice, it will be easy peasy. I began crocheting spheres of varying sizes first. Then graduated to cones, then cylinders, boxes, spirals, etc etc. Once you learn your basic shapes the Amigurumi world is your oyster! The above Ice cream is made up of basic 3D shapes all crocheted โin the roundโ. These shapes constructed together (which some will say is the most tedious part of Amigurumi making ๐คฃ) suddenly transform into a very funky Ice cream treat ๐ฆ My inspiration for this Ice cream came from the very talented baking goddess @katherine_sabbath after I attended a cake making demo of hers. I love being inspired by other creatives! So have you dared to give crocheting in the round a go yet?

Hello ๐๐ป itโs Charlotte here again from @littlehappygorgeous for another #mollietakeover post. Hereโs a sneak peak at a new crochet pattern Iโm currently working on. Two iconic birds of Australia (where Iโm from), the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo & Galah. I believe theyโre quite exotic & sort after birds outside of Oz, but theyโre literally everywhere here ๐ and in particular a local park just down the road from me. While there I thought to myself โI want to crochet you guys!โ I do love their Pom Pom crests and donโt you think they almost could belong in some kind of fabulous punk band!? Where do you draw your creative inspiration from? Culture, environment, community perhaps... ? ๐
