Not everyone has the heart you have..... To all the women, living in emotionally, mentally and financially abusive relationships and friendships, that are dressed up as functional healthy and loving relationships, I'm sorry for everything that you will experience and everything that you have already experienced. I'm sorry that you feel alone and feel you have no way but to suffer in silence while you bravely smile each day to preserve what you think or feel is healthy, I'm sorry about toxic friendships & toxic relationships, it's easy to say "WALK AWAY" but I know if someone has amazing moments and breaks within all their madness with you, you will overlook all the terrible and toxic burst of aggression or abuse. You will look pass the snide comments, the invalidations, the belittling comments from your assumed person of interest. The moment you feel abused, find a way to walk away. Find a way, please. And to those who have walked away, I salute your strength. I personally think we are all monstrous, I've caught myself being emotionally abusive through passive comments to people I claim to love, this is a flaw I'm continuously fixing and working on and for this, I'm thankful to the darlings who opened my eyes to passive toxicity. WE ALL do it without even noticing, from the mom or dad comparing their child to another child hoping to motivate them, from the best friend who is highly involved in your life, the friend who bullies you, to the boyfriend or girlfriend who always tell you that you need them and you won't be anything without them, to even the emotionally manipulative wife or husband... It's everywhere .
I didn't mention physical abuse, this is purely because we don't speak enough about the other forms of abuse and I can honestly only speaking of something I know of first hand. #microblog#thoughts#life#moments#comingofage#motivation#lifegoals#notoabuseofanykind#notoabuse#stopbullying#stopabuse#sociopaths#emotionalabuse#southafrica#africa#joburg#jozi#capetown
We chat to Johannesburg-based interior designer @Buzwe_Mabuza of @DesignDreams_International about his feature stand within the CoLabs section of the show, presented in collaboration with Fired Earth Paint. "I am presenting a bar and dining area. I’m hoping to include music, fashion and art in design while celebrating contemporary African icons.
My theme is ‘act local and think global’, inspired by some of our local talent that is doing amazing things globally.
The highlight will be the fusing of the most unorthodox elements; colours, textures and style.
My inspiration comes from the experience of beauty; in love, dance, art, philosophy and swagger.
My design advice: You will never date, your essence will always be relevant and so this is why your space has to reflect your personality." #designjoburg2018#colab#architecture#design#joburg#johannesburg#jozi#inspiration#designquote#africandesign#bardesign#dining#entertainment
