It's one of those days when you have breakfast for dinner 😀
🍚Sabudana( Tapioca) khichadi recipe is one of the simplest and requires very few ingredients. But its difficult to make a soft khichadi which is spicy but with a sweetish taste to it
🍚 This is my MIL 's recipe who makes perfect khichadi ever time. . For this you will need good quality sabudana. Consult with your friends and then finalize a brand
🍚Pick and seive 1 cup of sabudana and wash with water. Then add fresh water to the bowl till sabudana is fully submerged in it. Do not add water above the level of sabudana pearls. Now leave this covered at least for 6 to 8 hours
🍚These pearls almost double in size and soak all the water. Remove soaked sabudana in a large pan and add 3/4 cup of roasted groundnut powder + 2 tsp salt + 1/2 tsp red chilli powder. Mix with light hands
🍚 Heat a wok on medium flame and add 1 tbsp ghee + 1 tsp whole jeera + 1 finely chopped green chilli. Saute for 1 min and add sabudana mixture to it. Mix gently and cook covered for 5 min on low flame
🍚 When sabudana pearls no longer look white but are shiny and soft you add 2 tsp sugar. Mix gently and taste. Here add salt and sugar as per taste. Cover and cook for 2 minutes. Switch off the gas and let it sit for 5 min
🍚🌿Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and freshly grated coconut.
🍨🍋Serve hot with home made yoghurt or lemon wedges
🍚 Vegans can make this recipe in groundnut oil.
